the brand “dakarizes” its current medium-displacement ADV

Cyclone, directly associated with the matrix Zonsenhas within its current range with various ADV cutting options where the RX600 It is shown as a reference flagship in off-road matters. A model that could have its days numbered after the recent registration of patents by the Chinese brand regarding a future RX625 equipped with the well-known mechanics that Kove and Voge already use in some of their models.

Cyclone RX625: What we know

As Cycle World’s colleagues explain in detail, this RX625 has all the earmarks of becoming the natural successor to the RX600. A model by the way that we had the opportunity to test just a few months ago in its A2 version. Equipped with a 550 cm³ DOHC water-cooled twin-cylinder engine with 4 valves per cylinder fed by 43 mm injection bodies, the Full-Power version offered by Cyclone can offer up to 59 HP of power.

With the arrival of the RX625 the brand intends to go one step further at all levels. Starting precisely with its mechanics. For the occasion it would use the same engine that we already know in both the Kove 625X and the Voge DS625X. Maintaining the configuration of two cylinders in parallel, the final displacement rises to the 581cc which would result in a final power around 63 hpa figure similar to that declared by the two models already mentioned.

The curious thing about the design exhibited in these first images of the patent registration is the clear intention on the part of Cyclone to “dakarize” both the image and the dynamic qualities of its medium-displacement ADV model. The use of 21” and 18” radial tires at the front and rear respectively attests to this. Also the shapes and elements that dominate its front, where we highlight both the “duckbill” style fender and the windshield and instrumentation placed in a practically vertical position.

Other details that confirm this approach would be a seat in the pilot area that is longer and flatter than that of the current model, even extending to the end of the fuel tank. A kit of auxiliary lights, hand guards and a strong skid plate, as well as the various anchors to improve the motorcycle’s loading capacity, offer us a clear perspective of the Chinese brand’s intentions with this RX625.

In summary, the aim is to greatly improve off-road capabilities, but without neglecting the road section that is always expected from a model of this type (except that its commercial name is “Rally”). Regarding this last aspect, it is worth highlighting the incorporation of a front camera and a rear sensor that could be another camera or an ultrasonic distance sensor.

Although, at the moment, we do not have any official data offered by the brand itself, it is very likely that new information about this supposed RX625 will be revealed in the coming weeks. Let us remember that the RX2 was recently presented, a light trail designed for those seeking adventure without complications, so the arrival of new models to the Cyclone range is to be expected throughout this year 2026.
