In a historic confluence of tradition, craftsmanship and creativity, the Royal Albert Hall has collaborated with Royal Enfield and London-based composer and multidisciplinary artist Rushil Ranjan, to create The Ballad of the Bulletthe official video of the launch campaign of the new Royal Enfield Bullet 650 motorcycle.
The Royal Albert Hall as the venue for the presentation of the Bullet 650
Rushil Ranjan, Royal Enfield enthusiast, lifelong motorcyclist and artist who fuses motorcycling culture with music, composed the original score that captures the story of this legendary motorcycle in a musical composition. For the first time in history, the Royal Albert Hall’s 154-year-old organ is combined with traditional South Indian Chenda and Paria drums, creating a musical dialogue between grandeur and raw percussive energy.
The work, which includes a Veena solo by associate artist Abi Sampa, reflects the historical connection between the two nations. The promotional video premiered at EICMA 2025 to celebrate the launch of the iconic Bullet in its new version on the acclaimed 650 cc platform. The video shows the Bullet 650 on stage in the fairgrounds’ 5,272-seat auditorium, while a group of classical musicians surround it and perform music on various instruments.
“The Ballad of the Bullet” is a reinterpretation of the Bullet’s legendary legacy, fusing orchestral music with modern soundscapes to capture the spirit, emotion and tradition that have defined this motorcycle for generations. Matthew Todddirector of programming at the Royal Albert Hall, stated:
“We are very proud to collaborate with Royal Enfield, with our associate artist Rushil leading this initiative. Rushil’s work masterfully fuses traditional Indian culture with British orchestral aesthetics, reflecting the shared cultural and spiritual values that define the Royal Enfield brand and vision.”
Concludes: “Rushil’s deep connection to the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Enfield is evident in this fabulous short film, where both his presence and his soundtrack contribute to a memorable launch of the Bullet 650. We look forward to seeing where this collaboration will take us.”
Mohit Dhar JayalBrand Director of Royal Enfield, added: “The Royal Enfield global community is full of exceptional people and organizations constantly exploring new forms and expressions of motorcycle culture. The results of these searches and experiments are always spectacular, and this collaboration with the Royal Albert Hall is a magnificent example of this creative process. When two cultures, two legendary institutions and a classic, iconic motorcycle, come together, magic inevitably happens.”
Rushil Ranjan is a critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning composer, arranger and producer, known for fusing global classical traditions with contemporary orchestral music. As the creator of the Orchestral Qawwali Project, his work has earned him international recognition and a reputation as one of the leading voices in modern composition, having performed at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Roundhouse and Al Wasl Plaza in Dubai.
Ranjan was announced as an Associate Artist of the Royal Albert Hall alongside Abi Sampa earlier this year. Both artists, who sold out their groundbreaking Orchestral Qawwali project last year, have already announced the first concerts of their collaboration, including a spectacular collaboration with AR Rahman, titled Rangreza (रंगरेज़ा), which will be performed over three dates in April 2026. They will also work with the venue’s Engagement team to inspire music students, youth and community groups, and to give visibility to the next generation of artists.
