The Classic TT is, perhaps, the competition on the Isle of Man that is closest to the original race. Motorcycles that, in the best of cases, are around three decades old, but that can be up to five years old, because this event is reserved for classic motorcycles, once again roll on the island’s roads.
In fact, the Classic TT is designed for motorcycles that are between the ’70s and ’90s and that is why it is so special. Motorcycles that have been running on circuits around the world for a long time and that are kept, not in a museum or a room like an exhibition, but rolling and trying to set good times on the most demanding track in the world.
The return of the Classic TT comes five years after its last edition, in 2019. For obvious reasons we missed 2020 and 2021, but that does not mean that the classic motorcycles were not on the island because they had a place from 2022 to 2024 within the Manx GP , where in 2023 Víctor López achieved the first victory for a Spanish driver.
What the organization does is regain independence. Thus there will be three major competitions on the island, starting with the TT at the end of May, continuing with the Manx GP in August and finishing it off with the Classic TT.
In fact, the Classic will be intertwined with the ManxGP for some days, since the Manx is from August 17 to 25 and the Classic from the 20th to the 29th, although there will be rest days. As for the categories, Formula1 TT, Lightweight Clasicc TT, Historic Junior TT, Historic Senior TT and Senior Classic TT will be called.
