Competing in the World Cup of Resistance can be cheaper and more simple from the 2025 season. On the occasion of the 24 hours of Le Mans that will be held on the French track from April 17 to 20, we will attend the birth of a new category, the FIM Endurance World Trophy.
The International Motorcycle Federation has created this new category that will be integrated into the World Cup, but in which motorcycles will be closer to the homologated models for street that we are used to seeing under the Superstock regulation.
The limitations in terms of motorcycles will be very small, and with it it will be sought to limit the high cost that the equipment championship tests have for the equipment, despite competing with superstock motorcycles. Of course, the bikes will be 1,000 cubic centimeters, not having other lower displacements.
The new category of the Resistance World Cup changes the concept of reposses
One of the important novelties will be that of the reposses. Instead of the current system, there will be a minimum stop time, the deposit will be the standard and what will be done will be to replace one deposit with another through a special fast change system.
Another of the differentiating points will be that it will be a monomarca pneumatic championship. Unlike the other two categories of the World Cup, the tires will be all Dunlop, with 10 tire games for 24 -hour and 5 races for those of 8. In total, for the equipment that completes the entire season, they will be 25 pneumatic games included with the registration.
With regard to the models and compounds, there will be two KR109 options for the front tire and two other KR108 options for the rear. In addition, in the case of rain, specific compounds will be supplied.
With this new regulation it is not surprising that both those responsible for the FIM, and the World Cup, are excited about a project that is born, for now, only in the European rhodes for the same reason as the rest of the elections: save costs that is what has most complicated the existence of teams, even renowned.

Paul King, director of the FIM circuit racing commission: «The creation of the FIM Endurance World Trophy, a category dedicated to production motorcycles, will allow the participation of more standard motorcycles and encourage innovative ideas to develop a more accessible class. It will also guarantee that the performance of these machines is kept very close to that of the EWC and Superstock formula motorcycles on the track. This concept, devised by the FIM and WBD Sports, has been enthusiastically received by promoters, organizers and teams. It represents a great opportunity to attract new shields and allow some to continue their career in the competition. “
Gilles Stafler, EWC sports coordinator: «As a former team director in the EWC, I know the economic limitations of the championship well. I also know how competitive it has become, which makes a pyramidal system even more necessary that adapts to different levels of performance and budget. The comments we have received from pilots and teams have been very positive, and we will take advantage of this enthusiasm throughout the first season in 2025. »
