After seasons of celebration, the already well-known and massive “Harley-Davidson Homecoming” is leaving the North American firm’s annual calendar of events. This was made known by the brand itself in a statement issued together with the organization of Summerfest 2026, an event in which the American brand will integrate some of the activities of its now defunct macro-festival.
Harley-Davidson Homecoming canceled until further notice
The Harley-Davidson Homecoming celebrated its first inaugural edition on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the Yankee firm. From July 13 to 16, 2023, more than 130,000 people joined the brand party at various locations in the Milwaukee area. An event that was repeated in 2024 and 2025 and that everything suggested that it would return in 2026. In fact, the brand itself had announced its celebration this season on the weekend of July 9 to 12, something that will no longer happen according to the latest information related to the matter.
One of the reasons for this cancellation has been the decreasing number of participants edition after edition. Last year, just over 40,000 people attended the Harley-Davidson Homecoming 2025. The previous season saw attendance of around 60,000 registered. A fact that has not gone unnoticed by the new management of the company.
Since Artie Starrs replaced Jochen Zeitz as executive director of the brand, a series of decisions have been made to try to reverse the precarious financial situation that the company is going through. Harley-Davidson is currently facing the biggest economic and corporate crossroads in its history after publishing the latest financial report containing its final results for the fourth quarter of 2025.
That is why one of the measures adopted to try to stop this economic drain is to suspend the Harley-Davidson Homecoming and integrate part of the events planned within the Summerfest 2026 (Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.) programming: “As part of this announcement, Harley-Davidson confirmed that the events formally associated with HD Homecoming will now be incorporated into the anniversary celebrations.” as specified in the statement itself.
“Harley-Davidson once again becomes the “Official Motorcycle of Summerfest” and will take center stage as the title sponsor of America’s official 250th anniversary celebration at Summerfest on July 4, 2026.”as confirmed by the organization itself. Sarah Pancheripresident and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc., said following the announcement:
“We are thrilled to welcome Harley-Davidson as a sponsor of Summerfest, continuing a Milwaukee tradition. This partnership is especially meaningful as it brings together two iconic Milwaukee brands with the common goal of serving the community and providing unforgettable experiences to our fans.”
Finally Artie Starrspresident and CEO of Harley-Davidson, said: “We are thrilled to join Summerfest as a sponsor. Milwaukee is our home and always will be. We look forward to celebrating 250 years of America together with our riders, dealers and fans right here in our hometown.”
