Approximately 21 months have passed since Honda debuted its new V3 internal combustion engine. Just one year later, taking advantage of the incomparable framework offered by EICMA, they presented the V3R 900 E-Compressor concept. Even then we were aware that this new platform was not just another model. We were witnessing the birth of one of the brand’s most technological proposals in decades.
The Honda V3R 900 E-Compressor very close to production
The latest images presented by Honda in the patent registry, related to the final version of the V3R 900 E-Compressor leave no room for doubt: the street model is practically ready to be presented in society. This has all the necessary elements for its approval to be able to travel on the road. Rearview mirrors, turn signals, reflectors and license plate holder are among them.
As reported by Motorcycle colleagues, who have offered the news for the first time, “The design was filed with Australia’s intellectual property office on March 26, but was made public today. It cites a previous application filed in Japan on October 2, 2025, which remains under embargo.” Until now, all the images we knew of the model featured camouflage paint with a striking geometric pattern.

In any case, with the exception of the elements mentioned above, the same ones that are essential for the registration of its final version, there are not many changes that can be seen in these first CAD images with respect to the aforementioned initial prototype presented by the brand at EICMA 2025. What stands out, therefore, in its registrationable variant, is a suspension consisting of an inverted front fork and a Pro-Link system connected to the single-sided swingarm.
Braking is controlled by wave-type discs and radially anchored calipers, probably the same ones that were equipped on the initial prototype, signed by Nissin, operating the double front disc. Something similar happens with the multi-tubular chassis and the asymmetrical characteristics in its side fairings, maintaining the minimalist and aggressive aesthetics that the first concept of the model already exhibited at the time.

Mechanics as a flagship element of the set
Of course we cannot forget the most revolutionary element of this V3R 900 E-Compressor. We are referring, of course, to its 900 cc 75º V engine, cooled by water and equipped, for the first time in the world, with an electronically controlled electric compressor. The latter is capable of compressing the intake air regardless of the engine speed and the system does not require an intercooler.
In the words of the brand itself, we are looking at a propellant “Compact for agility. Dynamic for speed. No compromises: just cutting-edge engineering.” With performance comparable to that of a 1,200 cc engine, while also maintaining good environmental efficiencywould be prepared to offer the feel and thrust of a large displacement maxinaked, using a more compact, lighter and narrower block.

If everything goes as planned, it is more than likely that EICMA 2026 will become the place chosen by Honda to unveil the final street version of the Honda V3R 900 E-Compressor. If this official presentation finally occurs, it would not be until next season when the first units of the model would begin to arrive at the brand’s official dealerships.
