Honda, like every year, presents itself as a benchmark at the head of the technological dispute within the world of motorcycles. The new WN7 is a clear example of the general trend that the R&D department of the Japanese firm faces in its daily work.
Developed under the concept of “Be the wind” This model is part of the objective set by Honda to achieve a carbon-neutral society. Now it has also been awarded the gold award, the highest award in the Product Design category of the iF Design Awards.
WN7 wins gold at iF Design Awards 2026
Officially presented as Honda’s first electric naked model in the FUN category, the Honda WN7 is assembled on a frameless structure, where the battery housing functions as a chassis, an aspect that contributes to achieving a lightweight body with great design flexibility.
In terms of performance, the Honda WN7 offers a maximum power of 50 kW and a maximum torque of 100 Nm, figures comparable to medium-high displacement internal combustion engines. This guarantees, in the words of the brand itself “powerful yet balanced performance, both in urban driving with frequent stops and on the open road.”
On the other hand, with the objective of “refine functionality and capture the essence of motorcycle design”the design presents smooth and uniform surfaces in contact with the pilot. The headlight features a horizontal bar design, while the color styling is based on a black base body with gold accents. From the organization of the iF Design Award they have commented:
“The Honda WN7 electric motorcycle masterfully blends classic motorcycle DNA with a confident electric identity. It respects Honda’s heritage while embracing a clean energy aesthetic. The synthesis feels authentic, not forced, resulting in a unique design that is more than the sum of its parts. Bravo!”
For his part, Toshinobu Minami, General Director and Director of Operations of the Design Center of Honda R&D Co., Ltd., said: “The Honda WN7 has been awarded the Gold Award in the Product Design category of the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD. We are extremely honored to receive this award for the first time.”
