The King of motorcycles is renewed. Long live the Super Cub!

That’s right, after more than sixty years being part of the Japanese urban landscape, the epic Honda Super Cub 50 faces its disappearance. Sling has decided to turn the page with the launch of a new generation of light 110 cc motorcycles, designed to take up the baton of the legendary moped and open a new chapter in the history of one of the brand’s most emblematic and universal models.

He Super Cub 50originally launched in 1966, became the best-selling motor vehicle in the world thanks to its reliability, low consumption and ease of use. But neither its history nor its cultural weight have been enough to free it from the new environmental regulations that will come into force in Japan at the end of the year, or now.

These stricter emissions standards have condemned virtually all 50 cc mopeds circulating in the country. We told you about it not too long ago.

The legal change not only implies the disappearance of a symbol, but also a transformation of the market. As of the new regulation, those who have a car license will be able to drive motorcycles of up to 110 or 125 cc, as long as they do not exceed 4 kW of power (about 5.4 hp).

In this way, Japan says goodbye to the traditional concept of the moped to give way to a new level of urban mobility, more powerful and versatile.

In this context, Sling has presented in its country of origin a family of four new 110 cc models. This line directly replaces the Super Cub 50 and adapts to the new emissions regulations, maintaining the essence of the original concept. That is, light, practical and extremely efficient motorcycles.
