The latest cfmoto will leave you with your mouth open

The Moto world never ceases to surprise us thanks to patents such as those just presenting cfmoto at the rate of a new configurable model through an electronically adjustable handlebar.

It seems crazy, but it is not, at all. In fact it is not the first time that we encounter an idea similar to this, although with clear nuances in each of them that make them truly striking.

The idea of a configurable model is not new

Imagine that you get up every morning with the possibility of configuring your mount to taste thanks to an electronically adjustable handlebar. This is the essential idea of the project in which CFMoto seems to work for some time. The approach, in general terms, is not new. Already in 1989 Yamaha presented La Morpho, a prototype that was able to adapt the driving position (handlebar, seat and stroke) between a sports or a more tourist.

Subsequently, we have known other technological displays that tried to replicate the prototype of the firm’s signature. In 2019, for example, Honda patented a model that would theoretically modify the driver’s position and, with it, comfort based on use. Starting from a Honda CBR1000RR, both the height of the semimaners and the dome could be varied.

The system would work through a button that operated an electric motor and this in turn would be responsible for the “telescopic” bars to move inside the fork. The modification of the front and dome would be much simpler, since many motorcycles already do that. However, this type of configurable model, for the moment, has not gone from paper.

Perhaps the most revolutionary idea in this regard is what proposed last year Ziggymoto and its transformable virtual concept, being able to enjoy different types of motorcycle without having to change anything. For this, it would use the most advanced technology together with different pneumatic, electronic type systems and even the use of the user’s service. In this way, in a matter of seconds, we could go from being on a custom to pilot a sporting mount or an offroad model.

Configurable cfmoto model in detail

It is now Cfmoto who launches the adventure of developing a system that gives the possibility of enjoying a configurable model. On this occasion, just as he already did in his day, the idea would be to be able to have a frame capable of Pass sports to Touring in just a few seconds. For this, two elements are validly asserted. On the one hand, the front suspension bars could be regulated and on the other the position of the strokes.

In both cases through an electric actuator. In addition, this system, as detailed from the Australian Motorcycle medium “It can be installed on virtually any motorcycle, simply by adding the new upper shell, the actuator and the bars, without modifying the main structure of the chassis.” In the case of the strokes, it would only be necessary that the support to which they are anchored is of two -screw triangular type.

The mechanism itself would make it peak on one of the anchors, moving vertically and laterally at the same time. Finally, and as a remarkable fact, this system seems that initially would only be designed to be implemented in motorcycles equipped with semi -automatic changes, since it does not have the standing lever to use. There is also no conventional rear brake. The operation of this would be through the left handle, the same one that normally acts as a clutch.
