Indian Scout by Unique Custom Cycles in detail
Featuring three unique interpretations of the all-new 2025 Indian Scout, inspired by the stories and personalities that have made the Scout an icon for more than a century, the Forged Series highlights how customizers were always on the minds of the Indian Motorcycle design and engineering teams when developing the all-new Indian Scout.
In the sixth and final episode, series host Roland Sands is joined by Ronna Norén and Indian Motorcycle Design Director, Ola Stenegärdas they meet up with Mikkey Dee in Prague to deliver the custom Indian Scout to him during Dee’s busy touring schedule.
One of the key decisions in the design of the new Scout platform was to return to a tubular steel frame, a much more accessible option for customizers than cast or alloy frames. Norén de Unique Custom Cyclestook full advantage of the new chassis by cutting and modifying it to achieve a look inspired by Stan Dishong’s bikes.
Stenegärd commented: “Dishong was one of the pioneers of the chopper scene in the sixties and one of his Scouts had many of the traits that Ronna has learned. When you look at the bike, there are no discordant elements, it is totally consistent. The stance is correct, totally clean.”
Norén, for his part, explains that: “The plan from the start was to strip down the stock bike and make it as clean as possible. I started by stretching the frame, making a smaller tank and using larger spoked wheels to give the bike a lighter look. It has a slightly longer fork like Stan’s bike, this is a variation on that.”
Likewise, upon seeing his Indian Forged Scout for the first time, Dee exclaimed: “What’s the styling? Wow, it’s flawless! It sounds really loud. Louder than my drum kit! I wanted it to feel light and this bike has that. Riding it all day was another experience. It has very light handling and great balance, and I liked that.”
Roland Sands reflected on the three versions of the Forged Scout series saying: “Some bikes have a soul, and you can tell that when you give it to someone to work on, to personalize it, to put their own love, energy and design into a machine. With this version of the Scout, I think you’ve seen how different you can make the bike and how much you can bring your own soul, your own style, your own spirit to the machine. Yes, the Scout has a soul. That’s what happens.”
