A few weeks ago, the RFME announced the birth of the ELF Supersprint MX, a new idea that seeks to take a step further the show of motocross races within the national and that does so with a format that we are not used to: American races.
And after each return the last two pilots will be eliminated and will have to retire. But the Supersprint MX format is much more than a ten-minute sleeve, because it will be the closing event of the race weekend and will take part 30 pilots of the championship, 15 of the elite-MX1 category and another 15 of the elite-MX2 category. Thus, the best pilots of the weekend will meet on a single grill to play more than a victory, because there are economic awards at stake.
In total, in those 10 minutes 5,500 euros will be given, which will be distributed among the 20 final classified with the winner taking 2,000 euros, the second classified 900 and the third, 500. From that point 300 for the room, 250 for the fifth, 150 for the sixth and then 100 euros per pilot from the seventh to the twentyme. An economic award and an initiative that pilots seem to have hosted.
The Supersprint MX will have the best pilots in the weekend
Entering more detail of the classification system, the RFME will allow participating in the Supersprint MX at the top 15 classified of the Scratch classification of the weekend, but the first seven classified of the provisional have the right to participate even if they are not among them. In that case, they will occupy the final positions of their category by displacing the classified SCRATCH reached. The maximum pilots who will participate will be 35, with the possibility of including up to five guest pilots who have participated or not in the event during the weekend.
As for the elimination system, in each lap the last two pilots will be eliminated and also the pilots that are bent or those that are removed during the race. Also, depending on the circuit, it is estimated that the duration will be around 10 minutes, and the minimum of turns will be six and the maximum of eight.
As for the first appointment of the Supersprint MX will take place in Alhama de Murcia, on September 28, and Joan Barreda will be the guest pilot. On October 19, in Malpartida de Cáceres, it will be the second calendar event with this format and in this case the guest will be Iván Cervantes.
A different format that promises emotion and that fans will not only enjoy the circuit, as it will be broadcast live through Teledeporte, RTVE Play, the YouTube channel of the RFME and FIM-Moto.TV.
