KTM expands its range of plug-in models intended for off-road practice with its new SX-E 2.12 2027. Like the KTM SX-E 2, this is developed on an aluminum chassis with an extruded central tube, although it incorporates a 12 inch front wheel instead of the 10 inches of the SX-E 2 model, in addition to a longer travel suspension that provides a higher driving position.
KTM SX-E 2.12: “rider school”
With the new KTM SX-E 2.12, the Austrian brand expands its offer of electric models for younger riders, bringing them the same quality, technology and level of components that characterize the rest of the SX range. We have a good example of this in the front part of its new model. As we can see, it is equipped with a WP hydraulic fork with 90 mm of travel.
At the rear it incorporates a 34 mm hydraulic monoshock with adjustable preload. Mounted directly on the swingarm, it offers 70 mm of travel and has been developed to provide optimal balance and a damping response perfectly adapted to the assembly.
Thanks to this configuration, the seat height increases by 66 mm compared to the KTM SX-E 2. In this way, in the SX-E 2.12 2027, the 566mmwhile improving ground clearance and wheelbase length. All this while maintaining a contained weight of so only 29kg.
Power and safety in the right measure
Propulsion is provided by a 1.8 kW HUB motor (housed in the rear hub)lightweight and maintenance-free, powered by a 9.4 Ah lithium-ion battery with IP65 protection grade. This set offers a 50Nm maximum torque and, by eliminating components such as the chain and crown, it contributes to reducing weight and increasing safety in the event of a fall.
Light, intuitive and easy to handle, the KTM SX-E 2.12 has been designed to help young riders gain confidence and progress on two wheels, offering an accessible and fun riding experience from the first moment. Recharging is done using an external charger of up to 500 W, compatible with 110 V and 230 V outlets, which allows you to reach 100% charge in approximately one hour.
In terms of safety, the KTM SX-E 2.12 incorporates an anti-roll sensor that automatically disconnects the power in the event of a fall. Additionally, a safety lanyard attached to the rider’s wrist acts directly on the stop switch to stop the engine in unforeseen situations.
As for its standard equipment, this is completed with an illuminated multifunction screen located on the handlebar, which allows you to easily view the selected driving mode using different color codes. A complete design success so that pilots stay focused on what is truly important: driving.

Having said all this, it is worth clarifying that this new model is now available at official KTM dealers for a base price that starts from 2,795 euros.
