The current fan range could be extended in the coming weeks with the arrival of an expected novelty: the new Trident 800. A half -way mount between the current Trident 660 and Street Triple 765, in which the brand has been working in recent months, as stirred by the images of the testing test carried out in Spanish territory, published by Speed Week last November 2024.
TRIUMPH TRIDS 800 2026: What we know
Although, for the moment, there is no official confirmation by the English brand, everything indicates that among the novelties that could star in the Triumph Stand in Eicma 2025, its new Trident 800 is located. A mount that will be driven by the current trichylindrical engine that equips the Tiger Sport 800 and that for the occasion yields 115 hp of power at 10,750 rpm and 84 nm of maximum torque at 8,500 rpm.
At the design level, it would clearly start from the master lines on which its younger sister, the Trident 660, is developed, although enjoying an imprints of its own and presumably some elements of extra equipment. If we guide ourselves to the images of the piloted test mule in our country by Alex Toledo, Kawasaki resistance pilot, we can observe how a small cupulino looked in its front.
There are also variations in terms of the shapes and disposal of the rear trench, as well as the design of the fuel tank and its main lighthouse. Similarly, the exhaust system, although it has a configuration similar to that of the TRIDS 660, varies completely its appearance in the part that concerns the exit, with a newly modified silencer.
Finally, we can observe that both the suspension, the braking or the chassis itself, are far from the equipment that includes the minor of the Trident saga. Even the tire team that mounts the test unit, comes from the Street Triple 765. All this definitively confirms Triumph’s intention to include a less radical and more affordable option than the latter.
In any case, for the moment, there is no official news about the possibility that a Trident 800 arrives at the British firm range for next year. What is more than probable that we get out of doubt in this regard in just a few weeks, and if the model is confirmed that the brand may publicly announce it before finishing this year 2025.
