Benda: X-ray of a strategic irruption in the Spanish market
Benda Motor Group has ceased to be an emerging promise to consolidate itself as a heavyweight in the global industry. With a production capacity that ranges between 100,000 and 200,000 annual units (figures that place it at an operating volume similar to that of such consolidated firms as BMW Motorrad), the Hangzhou-based group is going through a phase of explosive expansion.
We are not facing another generalist manufacturer, but rather the absolute leader of the cruiser segment in Chinawhere it holds an impressive market share of the 37% and has a global community that already exceeds 300,000 users.
Their growth is solid and sustained: in 2025 they doubled their global exports, demonstrating that their commitment to their own design and engineering has a real impact outside their borders.
In Spain, this commercial offensive is articulated under the logistical support of the Keeway Groupwhich guarantees a critical after-sales, spare parts and distribution structure to generate confidence in the European user. The strategic plan is ambitious: the brand plans to go from 4 to 10 models in the catalog for the year 2026, evolving from being an aesthetic anecdote to a leading player in the medium and high displacement market.
This evolution is supported by a rare technical audacity, integrating internally developed V4 engines, air suspension systems and CVT automatic transmissions into custom platforms, definitively moving away from the copy-and-paste stigma of other Asian manufacturers.
During this day of testing in Barcelona, I have had the opportunity to dynamically evaluate the three spearheads that will define the brand’s sales volume: the imposing LFC 700, the balanced Chinchilla 500 and the surprising Chinchilla 350 CVT.
Benda’s deployment includes other major technological milestones, such as the Dark Flag V4 or the radical Napoleon Bob 125. Benda is running, due to its productive capacity and technical innovation, to transform the panorama of the cruiser segment in our country.
Benda LFC 700: The “Muscle Bike” with a radical design
The LFC 700 bend (in its standard version) is a motorcycle that defies conventional classifications, positioning itself more as a muscle bike than a traditional cruiser.
Equipped with a motor inline tetracylindrical that delivers 86 HPits most impressive feature is, without a doubt, its 310mm rear tire wide, a figure that constitutes a true technical boast in the category. The Triumph Rocket 3 or the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy stay at 240 mm, to give us a place).
Despite its massive and futuristic aesthetics, it has a highly efficient braking system, essential for managing the weight of the assembly.
In the dynamic section, the LFC 700 is a motorcycle that commands respect and requires prior experience. Due to the extreme width of its rear end, the motorcycle shows a clear tendency to remain in a straight line, which forces the rider to apply a lot of counter-steering to get it into a curve. Once tilted, it is easy to reach the limit of the warning devices in twisty areas.
Its engine offers a sound more typical of a sports car than a custom, although, given the volume and mass of the motorcycle, there is a fair amount of power for those looking for incredible performance.
It should be noted that the range is divided into two variants, with the LFC 700 Pro being the one that brings together the firm’s greatest technological and visual display. Curiously, while the standard version opts for the massive 310 mm tire, the Pro variant slightly reduces this level to the 300mmperhaps seeking a more docile behavior.
However, the true value of the Pro version lies in its exclusive innovations: it incorporates a air suspension BENDA Dual-Chamber Air Suspension which allows seat height adjustment between 650 and 730mm; and also some spectacular retractable headlights that emerge from the tank area that give it a futuristic Batman motorcycle-style aesthetic.
This combination of technical solutions makes me convinced that the Pro variant will end up outselling the base model, positioning itself as the maximum exponent of Benda’s innovation capacity.
Benda Chinchilla 350 CVT: The revolution of automatic transmission
The Bend Chinchilla 350 CVT represents one of the brand’s most audacious innovations by hybridizing the custom concept with the ease of use of a scooter. This model of 33.5 HP (343cc) It dispenses with the brake pedal and the gear selector, transferring all control to the handlebar levers through a variator transmission. Aesthetically, it maintains a classic and sober line, but hides a surprising character thanks to a diabolical exhaust sound that sounds like the trumpets of the final judgment.
Dynamically, it has been the big surprise of the day due to its extreme agility. Unlike other heavy models in the segment, this 350 has a lightweight front axle that allows instantaneous direction changes, making it ideal for urban and interurban environments.
Despite my height (1.86 m) and weight (100 kg), the bike pushes decisively and offers very comfortable ergonomics, with a soft seat that compensates for a somewhat dry or tense suspension on uneven surfaces.
In conclusion, the Chinchilla 350 CVT is probably my favorite in the catalog. It is a capable, very beautiful and extremely accessible motorcycle that eliminates the barriers of changing gears without losing the custom aesthetic essence.
It seems to me to be a master option as a second motorcycle for riding or simply to enjoy a pleasant and stylish ride without technical complications.
Benda Chinchilla 500: The balance of the “New Custom”
The Chinchilla 500 Bend It is positioned as the most balanced and rational model in the mid-range. With an engine that delivers 47 hp (suitable for the A2 license) and an engine torque of 42 Nm at 7,200 rpmoffers a much more conventional and sober cruiser aesthetic than its sisters, avoiding stridency but maintaining finish levels that I consider above average. It is a motorcycle that feels light despite its size, with a full engine sound that is very pleasant to the ear.
In motion, it stands out for a very noble and balanced chassis that transmits confidence from the first meters. It has very good brakes and allows fluid cornering, although it shares with other models of the brand a somewhat hard suspension that prioritizes control over absolute comfort. The transmission is by belt, which always helps smooth out a cruiser.
The only notable point of improvement is the feel of the accelerator, a bit abrupt at low revs, which forces you to play with the clutch in slow maneuvers or roundabouts, something common in several Chinese manufacturers on the other hand.
As a general assessment, the Chinchilla 500 is a great product for those looking for a well-made and fun classic cruiser of driving. You don’t need to attract attention with giant tires or automatic transmissions; Its value lies in its honesty, its good technical finish and an engine with enough response to enjoy any road. It is confirmation that Benda knows how to make logical motorcycles with a more than acceptable quality standard.
Models on the horizon and innovation from the Benda house
Although the testing day was intense, the Benda catalog is beginning to be so extensive that there were several models that I was not able to test. However, its presence in the static exhibition and the announced technical deployment allow us to glimpse the brand’s ambition for the short term.
Expansion is a fact: Benda will go from having four to ten models in the catalog during the year 2026, diversifying its offer from the access segment for the A1 license to highly technologically complex machines that seek to establish new standards in the market.
The great star of the presentation, and the one that has generated the greatest expectation, is without a doubt the Dark Flag 500 Bend. I consider that, technologically, it is the most advanced motorcycle in the brand’s entire current catalog.
Its main argument is an innovative 496 cc V4 enginea proprietary development that breaks with the usual configurations of the medium-displacement segment. It should be mentioned that it includes Cruise Control and a technology called «Idle Shutdown» (disconnection of cylinders at idle) to better manage heat and consumption, something very pro for a 500.
Furthermore, his Air suspension is electronic and automatically adaptive (adjusts the seat of 670 to 700mm). In the absence of a dynamic test that I hope to carry out soon, the Dark Flag is positioned as the flagship in terms of development and design, integrating cutting-edge solutions that place it, in my opinion, as the firm’s best technical bet to date.
Another model that captures the eye immediately is the Napoleon Bob 125. This is a proposal that transfers the aggressive bobber aesthetic to the access segment for users with an A1 card.
The highlight of this little frame is its cheeky steampunk aesthetic, which maintains the extreme personality of its older sisters (Napoleon Bob 250 and Napoleon Bob 500) in a more contained format.
With this addition, Benda seeks to democratize disruptive design, offering a gateway to the “Benda style” for those drivers who are new to two wheels or who are looking for an urban frame with an undeniable personality.
Benda’s emergence into the Spanish market should not be underestimated or considered a mere aesthetic anecdote. My verdict after this day is a pleasant surprise: if Benda maintains these quality standards and continues to challenge convention, I have no doubt that it will soon surpass all those who do not have it on their radar.
