In 2019, an unprecedented initiative toured the world from end to end. They were not events to which we are accustomed as a career or a concentration. It was WRWR, a network of women who, on motorcycles of all types and displacements, united countries, cultures and kilometers seeking to make visible that they are also an active part of global motorcycling.
The experience, baptized as Women Riders World Relay (WRWR), achieved a milestone: more than 20,000 women from 102 countries sharing a symbolic relay throughout the planet.
Now, with more experience and an even greater ambition, the WRWR returns in 2026 with a new format. This time we will not have to cross continents in motorcycle. Everything will be articulated through a mobile application, specifically designed to connect the participants and allow the relief of progress in a virtual way.
The WRWR 2026 is based on technology
The WRWR 2026 heart will be a free app that will be launched in September. Through it, each participant can “receive” the digital witness and “pass” to another motorcyclist once completed their section, always with geolocation and route test. As in the original edition, the witness cannot be delivered without having received it first. The chain must be real, although now runs on the screen.
Of course, not everything is in the symbolic. The application will integrate challenges, classifications, monitoring of routes, personalized profiles and a community to share experiences. The objective is not only to add names, but register the magnitude of the movement. The more participants, the more weight will the voice of the WRWR will be before the industry, which is still behind in offering products really thought for them.
In addition, each country will have ambassadors in charge of initiating and coordinating local activity. Some have already participated in 2019; Others are now added with the illusion of being part of a story that is written again with gasoline … and now also with data.
By the way, the app excludes anyone. Although the relay will be exclusive for women, the platform will also allow men interested in supporting the cause to access information, events and formative content.
