The world’s largest motorcycle plant will be Honda … and will be in India

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), subsidiary of production and sale of Honda motorcycles in India, has recently announced the construction of a fourth production line on its fourth floor (Vithalapur, district of Ahmedabad, Gujarat). With the start of operations planned by 2027the new line will have an annual production capacity of 650,000 units.

This will raise the total capacity of the fourth floor to 2.61 million unitsturning it into the world’s largest Honda motorcycle assembly plant. HMSI currently has four production plants in India, with a total annual production capacity of 6.14 million units.

The fourth floor began operating in February 2016, with an annual production capacity of 600,000 units, and in June of the same year, the company extended its capacity to 1.2 million units with the start of its second line.

The third line began operating in January 2024, taking the annual production capacity to 1.96 million units. Honda will invest approximately 95 million euros To build a fourth line capable of producing 650,000 motorcycle units of class 125 cc per year in the aforementioned facilities.
