Last November we knew firsthand the main data that wrapped the development of the novelty Royal Enfield FT450. In essence, a mount based on the Flat Track 450 Concept shown a few months earlier on the occasion of the celebration of the London Bike Shed Moto Show 2024.
Then it was evident that we were facing a project developed on the same platform responsible for giving life to the current Himalayan 2024 and subsequent guerrillas 450.
Royal Enfield FT450: Will we have a registrable version of the model?
Following the presentation of the “Slide School” training program, in which the brand gives the possibility of its participants to meet first hand all the secrets that surround the discipline of the Flat -trackthe doubt of whether Royal Enfield will end up again will end up launching a “civil version” of this FT450, with a marked Scrable character.
We must not forget that we are not facing a totally new model, emerged from a deep market study. Rather, as the inbritian firm itself explains: “Designed for Royal Enfield’s Slide School program, in collaboration with Flat Track legends such as Gary Birtwistle, FT450 is a tracker specifically designed to roll with intensity in ground oval.”
Concludes: “Share the essence of the 450 guerrillas (the same powerful Sherpa engine and a similarly minimalist chassis), but adds 18 -inch tires, specific circuit ergonomics, an optimized escape and a revised suspension.” It is clear then that it would not be very difficult to use this same base to develop a street model endowed with technical powers similar to those enjoyed by this FT450.
Recall that the current “and a half” platform of the house is essentially made up of a double steel beam chassis and a 452 cc monocylindrical engine. The latter has liquid cooling, electronic fuel injection and an effective 6 -speed gearbox and antirrebote clutch, among others. In the case of the guerrillas it offers a power of 40 CV at 8,000 rpm and 40 nm of maximum torque at 5,500 rpm.
At this point, just wait for the brand to decide to turn the FT450 concept in the form of a registrable motorcycle. In summary we would be facing a review of the current guerrillas where the Scrambler character was imposed with the fair touch of flat -track.
The idea does not sound bad at all and coming from Royal Enfield, it is very likely that very soon we are surprised with the launch of a new mount of characteristics similar to the above.
