This Harris 77 is a brutal streetfighter with a Suzuki GSX-R1100 engine, 130 HP and luxury components

Harris Performance chassis kits have become, for decades, a prized cult object for anyone who considers themselves a lover of high-flying preparations. Among them Gary Wolffounder of Wolf 77 Custom Motorcycles in the United Kingdom and creator of this “Harris 77 Magnum 4 GSX-R1100 Streetfighter”. Well, to tell the truth, co-creator, since part of the project was already assembled when it arrived at his facilities.

Harris 77 Magnum 4: the context

In a recent interview with Bike Bound colleagues, it is Garry himself who tells the story about this elaborate preparation. Perhaps the best description of a project of these characteristics is the one offered by InsideBikes magazine: “It’s designed to be macho; to look mechanical and aggressive, not smooth and pretty. It’s oversized and brutal, kind of like a two-wheeled AC Cobra… It’s as robust and bold as ever.”

Coming as a commission from a good friend of Wolf’s, some of the parts that now form the slender silhouette of this Harris 77 Magnum 4, arrived in his hands in a state that was at least questionable: on the one hand, a Harris preparation “with a very deteriorated nickel-plated chassis”he explains. From another a GSF1200 Bandit equipped with a modified GSX-R1100K engine.

“His only real request was to transplant the engine to the Harris. Beyond that, he gave me complete freedom to take the bike in any direction I wanted. Absolute trust”he concludes. So, as they say, Garry automatically got to work. He comments that the engine was one of its strong points, since at the time it had been modified and improved for the Harris preparation on which it was mounted.

With a final displacement of 1,216cc came equipped with Wiseco pistons, profiled camshafts. The other usable element of the donor motorcycle was undoubtedly the fuel tank, of a “aggressive and angular, which Garry and the owner knew needed to be preserved”they comment in the interview itself.

Preparation in detail

Starting from this approach, Garry already had in his mind what the final concept should be on which to develop this Harris 77 Magnum 4. Starting with a completely new rear part of the motorcycle. To do this, Wolf designed a custom stainless steel subframe using CAD, as well as the aluminum upper tail. “It was about using CAD (cardboard-assisted design) to create a completely customized seat with lines that harmonized with the tank and chassis”he comments himself.

Also “an afterburner style tail/brake light assembly, a machined aluminum cover and bracket for the rear shock remote reservoir, and CNC machined front brake bracket adapters for the AP Racing calipers… even the stainless steel bolts have individually machined details!”they conclude in this regard.

Then he focused on the electrical installation where he included a Motogadget ECUhiding all the elements under the bodywork. He then turned his attention to acquiring and assembling the rest of the components with which to conclude the assembly process: Dymag magnesium wheels, AP Racing brakes, ISR controls, Mikuni RS flat gate carburetors and a Pro-Race exhaustare the most notable.

A finishing touch to match

With the Harris 77 Magnum 4 fully assembled, Garry trusted Adrian, Bulldog Custom Paintsfor painting. Then he turned to Les, SaddleCraftfor the exclusive seat upholstery, putting the finishing touch to a motorcycle that currently has around 130 HP of power and was one of the undisputed stars of the 2026 edition of the British Worship Moto Show event.
