Together with the expected CB500SF, Honda has also announced a sports variant developed on the same platform as the first: the new CBR500R FOUR 2026. As with the current CB650 and CB650R, the Japanese brand does the same on this occasion with its new options nestled in the intermediate category, both driven by a New Tetrachindric Propulsor of 502 CC from which a maximum power of the order of the 80 hp is extracted.
Honda CBR500R FOUR 2026: First details about the model
Although the information that the brand has given, for the moment, we do know the first details that will form the technical, dynamic and equipment in charge of giving life to this CBR500R Four will not be much. Starting with the use of the second generation of the well-known Honda E-Clutch electronic clutch system, now equipped with an electronic accelerator.
As they detail from Motorcycle: “In 650 models, drivers controlled when to change march, but the second generation electronic clutch works with the electronic acceleration system to automatically reduce marches.” This new advance also brings with it a change of disposal in the engine.
While in the first E-Clutch models the system was located on the right side of the motorcycle, it will be installed in the left compartment. Honda states that this variation achieves a better distribution of the general weight of the motorcycle. In addition, it has not been spared when selecting the elements that must perform the work of making their cycle part as efficient.
Here we can review a diamond -shaped steel chassis, where the engine function of self -supporting element. The suspensions of the new CBR500R Four are signed by KYB, with a front inverted fork and a subsequent shock absorber anchored to the aluminum rear trench through the well -known prolink system that Honda uses in many of its models.
For braking, the brand resorts to Nissin, with a pair of front discs and radial anchoring tweezers of four pistons. In the posterior axis there is also a disc operated by a third clamp, in this case monopiston. If we talk in terms of design and finishes, we highlight a 5 -inch TFT screen with smartphones connectivity. However, as they explain from the local supermoto8, “The exterior has been subject to considerable debate.”
It seems, after being presented, some fans believe that their lines do not offer a clear vision of what is expected of a Honda model. This sensation is mainly related to the front of the motorcycle, since both the lateral and rear line has been quite praised among the audience. The rest of details will be unveiled on the occasion of the next eicma 2025 edition, where we will also know the exact launch date of the model.
