This is the WolfStorm, the electric enduro motorcycle created in Ukraine for the war

After more than four years of conflict, the Ukrainian War, far from experiencing its final blows, seems destined to continue indefinitely. So much so that local companies like USC have just announced the WolfStormits new electric enduro motorcycle destined to carry out tasks within the national army. A model created “to operate in difficult off-road conditions, withstand high loads and offer long-term autonomy”just as they themselves describe it.

USC WolfStorm in detail

The WolfStorm project has been in development for a few months and it is January of this year when the company releases the first details after carrying out the first preliminary tests in combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, specifically in the Special Operations Forces (SSO). As detailed then, the model has a series of key features essential on the battlefield:

USC explained: “We anticipate that WolfStorm will be very useful for missions that require rapid and covert movements. Being an electric vehicle, WolfStorm does not emit the sound of an internal combustion engine and has minimal heat emission. This makes it much less visible than traditional vehicles.”

On the other hand, the brand assured that its WolfStorm “It is ideal for sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRG). In addition, it will become a reliable solution for second-line fighters (FPV drone operators, sappers), as well as for front-line logistics (goods delivery, rotation control, patrolling).”

Beyond the possible applications it may have on the battlefield, technically, USC uses a QS 205 V3 direct drive electric motor, 72 V, 3000 W, 50 H (brushless)with a Rated power of 3 kW and maximum power of up to 8 kW. Its mounting in a central position helps to have optimal weight distribution.

This helps improve maneuverability and reduce wheel unsprung mass, which is especially important when traveling over uneven terrain. The propellant is combined with a 72V 60Ah lithium ion batterywhich provides a range of at least 100 km.

Full charging from 84V/15A mains takes approximately 4 hours. The maximum speed of the WolfStorm is at least 70 km/h. As for its cycle part, the chassis is designed to support a full load of up to 260kgincluding the driver, passenger and additional equipment.

The motorcycle can overcome slopes with a minimum inclination of 25° and has a ground clearance of 380 mm. At the suspension level, the model is equipped with an inverted front fork and a rear monoshock anchored in a central position. The braking system is hydraulic disc on both axles and is anchored in radial wheels shod with 80/100 R21 and 100/100 R18 off-road tires, front and rear respectively.

The WolfStorm incorporates reverse gear, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces and difficult terrain. Likewise, the motorcycle’s electrical system has a degree of protection IP66, which allows the equipment to operate in conditions of dust, dirt, precipitation and high humidity. That said, the brand assures that the WolfStorm has a “potential that goes beyond these forces”, although at the moment its commercialization for civil use has not been confirmed, nor has the estimated price that it could have if this option were to materialize.
