In recent times, although it seems that the electricity sector is not achieving the expansion desired by its ideologues, brands such as Honda continue working on new latest generation projects as their possible Fireblade Electric.
The last patents presented by the brand, in addition, make us seriously think that they could already have a practically completed prototype and ready to be presented in society.
Honda Fireblade Electric: Everything we know so far
It is not the first time that patents related to possible electrical models of Honda of sports cuts are filtered. In fact, the Japanese brand, already in 2020, patented a CBR and electric -style sports. However, on this occasion, they go one step further with a possible Fireblade Electrico, also loaded with remarkable details that show the brand’s interest in materializing such a model in the short or medium -term series.
And it does not seem impossible, even more so when just a few days ago we discovered the Sigma Regen LMT01, a fully functional concept as a result of the work of a group of students of the Sigma Clermont School of Engineering located in France, developed from a Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and that aspires to participate in Le Mans 2029. An objective that could be totally feasible taking into account that on April 20 Demonstration to the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, just before the legendary motorcycling test.
That is, if a team of students has managed to undertake the precise works to convert Japanese sports in a fully functional electric version, we should ask ourselves what will be able to materialize the idea of an electric siebeblade on a registrable motorcycle. On the latter, for the moment, we can get an idea that waiting thanks to the images of the Patent Registry recently published by the Australian Motor Cycle Australian.
In them we can clearly see how Honda chooses to mount the engine of its electric sirblade just behind the chassis, thus giving rise to a motor-bombing system similar to that currently using the Scooter segment. On the other hand, we have the horizontal position adopted by the rear shock absorber, placed just above the swingarm itself. Likewise, these three pieces would be screwed to a common anchor, thus facilitating their disassembly at any time.
On the inside of the chassis, the battery package, as well as the complete electrical system, would therefore be located. In addition, this configuration induces to think that it would serve as a platform to be able to apply it later to other brand models. In this way, the Fireblade Electrica would be erected as the beginning of a new era within the brand, serving as a model for the following generations of mounts of this typology, with the possibility of varying the power of the propeller or the ability of the batteries.
While the idea of an electric Fireblade seems uncomitable at the moment, the level of detail of the images presented by Honda, together with the technical report of the patent, make believe that the brand would have practically ready a concept of the model that would make known in the coming months. Even more when Eicma 2025 is just around the corner, and is the place preferred by brands to present their latest news related to the two -wheeled sector.
