Goodbye to the clutch! The New Yamaha Tracer 7 2026 is passed to automatic y-ab change

It seems clear that automated change systems have come to stay. The last to benefit from this technology will be the new Tracer 7 2026as confirmed by the homologation documents recently submitted by Yamaha before the European authorities. With it, four models would be, within the current offer of the Japanese brand, which would enjoy the possibility of implementing this equipment optionally.

Tracer 7 2026: 4 different versions with Y-MT as an option

Yamaha, like other reference brands in the sector, are aware of the needs of an increasingly demanding audience in equipment and technology. That is why the implementation of automated changes has proliferated gradually within the sector. In the case of the fingerboard firm, it has Y-AMT technology (Yamaha-Automated Transmission Manual).

We talk about a system that also offers the possibility of choosing between a gentle manual change, acted with fingers, or two totally automatic modes of change. That is, the Y-MT system allows you to adjust the machine gearshift characteristics according to the pilot preferences and road conditions at all times, being able to choose between a manual change operated with the fingers, “MT” or a totally automatic “AT”.

Until now Yamaha equips this type of technology in three of its models: MT-09, MT-07 and Tracer 9. From all of them we have spoken in depth in the respective tests that we have carried out, testing the operation of this technical flaunt:

Now, thanks to the information they handle from the American media Cycle World, we have discovered that Yamaha already prepares a 7 2026 tracer also equipped with the famous Y-Amb. Thanks to the homologation documents presented by the Japanese firm before the European authorities, we know that for the next season the model will have up to four different variants.

These are called in internal code “M6A” (manual, six speeds, automated) together with the standard versions with “M6” gearboxes. For now, the brand has not referred to the fact that there will be any change of draft in the Tracer 7 2026. Currently, Tracer 7 is propelled by an online bicilinder engine capable of offering up to 72.5 hp at 8,750 rpm and 68 nm torque at 6,500 rpm, in its full-power version.

Of course, there is a version for the A2 with 35.0 kW at 7,750 rpm. This is also associated with a forceful technological compendium of last batch, where we can highlight systems such as the new electronic accelerator and-CT, YRC driving modes (Yamaha Ride Control) or the three power maps (PWR1, PWR2 and PWR3) and two traction control levels.

To all this, if there are no last-minute changes, a tracer 7 2026 y -am version will be added. In this way, the Japanese Sport Tourer earns whole in the matter of comfort and versatility, especially in the face of all those looking for a motorcycle with greater route.

As for the price, if we make a comparison with its older sister, the tracer 9 2025, it is possible that tracer 7 2026 equipped with the Y-MT, increase its final rate by just over a thousand euros, going from the 9,999 of the standard version, to just over 11,000 euros for the model with automated change.
