After a first edition focused on the Bonneville range, Triumph Originals returns in 2026 with a new challenge: create seven unique Scramblers inspired by different eras in the history of this model. Spain will be one of the seven participating countries and will be represented by Tamarit Motorcycles, which this year becomes part of the teams contending for the Triumph Original 2026 title after having been present in the inaugural edition through Quique Berna as a member of the jury.
Triumph Originals 2026 in detail
Triumph Originals was born in 2025 as an international challenge designed to bring together teams from different countries and local trainers around the same idea: reinterpreting the legacy of the legendary Hinckley brand from creativity, design and custom culture. This edition, under the theme “Icons of British Originality” and the Bonneville platform for preparations, had Brazil with Gaijin as the winner.
We are talking about a cafe racer based on the Speed Twin 1200 created by Teydi Deguchi, from Shibuya Garage, in São Paulo. Now, in 2026, the competition evolves with a new base and a new creative brief. Under the theme “Time Capsule”participating teams must choose a decade, an era or a key moment in the history of the Scrambler and transfer it to a current creation.
The goal is to capture the style, attitude and spirit of that moment to make it relevant from a contemporary perspective. The mechanics of the contest maintain its global approach: each participating country has chosen a Scrambler and has partnered with a local trainer to develop a completely original preparation.
The bikes will be presented this summer and will be evaluated by a panel of design and cultural experts before going to a public vote. The combination of both scores will determine which bike ultimately wins the title of Triumph Original 2026, with the winning team to be announced in the autumn.
In addition, the Triumph Originals section of the Triumph website will allow you to follow the evolution of the contest over the coming months, with interviews with the trainers, images and content about the design and construction process of each motorcycle.
The Scrambler central protagonist of Triumph Originals 2026
The choice of the Scrambler as a starting point connects directly with one of the most recognizable expressions of the Triumph universe. Its history is deeply linked to the culture of motorcycle preparation, to the freedom of use and to that way of understanding the motorcycle as a tool capable of going beyond the asphalt.
In fact, in the 60s, many motorcyclists began to adapt high-performance motorcycles with knobby tires, wide handlebars and high exhausts to be able to take on tracks, deserts and dirt roads. From that spirit were born the authentic Desert Sleds, motorcycles associated with names like Steve McQueen either Bud Ekinsalready tests as legendary as the Big Bear Run wave Low 1000.
In the words of Paul StroudTriumph Commercial Director: “The Scrambler has an extraordinary legacy that has influenced both motorcycle culture and the world of racing”. A story that, as he highlights, was born from pilots, ingenuity and personal modifications, and whose spirit of customization continues to be part of the essence of the model today.
Triumph brought back the Scrambler in 2006, inspiring a new generation of riders and making it one of the symbols of the modern classic custom scene. That connection between past and present is still fully valid in a wide family of models.
Seven countries will meet in the 2026 edition of Triumph Originals
Triumph Originals 2026 will bring together teams from the United Kingdom, Italy, France, China, Canada, Spain and the United States, all of them with the same starting point (a Triumph Scrambler) and the same creative brief: reinterpret an era, a decade or a key moment in its history under the “Time Capsule” theme. Each country will work together with a local tuner to build a unique motorcycle, capable of combining design, craftsmanship, story and loyalty to the Scrambler spirit.
The details of each project can be followed in the Triumph Originals section of the Triumph website, where interviews with the trainers, images and stories of the design and construction process of each motorcycle will be published. Spain will be represented by Tamarit Motorcycles, the Alicante workshop specialized in Triumph preparations.
Directed by Quique and Matías, Tamarit comes to this edition with a track record of more than 210 unique motorcycles delivered worldwide and a philosophy that combines British heritage, Mediterranean style and a deep specialization in Triumph’s Modern Classics family. His presence also represents a particularly natural step within the competition: in 2025, Quique Berna was part of the jury for the first edition; In 2026, the Spanish team begins to compete with its own creation.
The rest of the teams will also contribute very different visions of customization. The United Kingdom will have Stockwell Design, Italy will be represented by South Garage Motor Co., France will participate with FCR Original, China will have BVL Garage, Canada will be represented by Motos Illimitées and the United States will complete the list of participants within the global development of the contest.
Once all the proposals have been submitted, public voting will allow fans to support their favorite creation and contribute, together with the jury’s assessment, to decide which motorcycle becomes the Triumph Original 2026. More information and details on the brand’s official website.
