Triumph continues to give us the “long teeth” with small doses of information about what is destined to become the next member of its Modern Classic range, the highly anticipated Bonneville 400. A model that is, probably, the most desired by fans of the English firm who are currently in possession of the A2 license.
The Bonneville 400 in “homestretch” mode
We are fully convinced that if Triumph opened a survey tomorrow on the model most desired by fans of the brand, the Bonneville 400 would be among the first on the list. Very similar to this, possibly, the Tiger 400 would be positioned, another that sooner or later will end up becoming a reality. While that moment arrives, the only thing we have left is to echo the latest news related to any of them.
In this case, the protagonist of the latest images captured by digital creator mane_the_omkar is precisely the first of both. Once again the Bonneville 400 has been seen circulating on one of the main roads in a city in the country. Again, as has happened before, the feeling we get when viewing them is how close the launch of said model could be.
Equipped with the necessary elements for its future homologation, there are few parts of the motorcycle that the brand tries to cover when it takes to the asphalt to perform a test drive. With a design very much in line with the Hinckley brand, the Bonneville 400 emanates the characteristic retro style exhibited by all the components of the aforementioned range of Modern Classic models:
Spoke wheels, double rear side shock absorbers, a long one-piece seat or lighting equipment with a clear vintage inspiration are part of the features we are referring to. On the other hand, we have the typical rounded fenders with good proportions, as well as a general finish where the black color becomes the true protagonist. Its characteristic appearance is completed by the bellows that cover the fork and a fairly upright riding position, thanks to the shapes and positioning of its handlebars.
Crowning its tips we have a pair of mirrors with the classic rounded design, thus seeking to emphasize that classic line on which the model is based. Finally, a detail that is relevant in a motorcycle of this type is the instrument panel that it will finally equip. From local media like Rush Lane, they are clear: “In previous spy photos you can see a circular instrument panel, unique to the Bonnie. We hope it is completely analog to match the retro aesthetic of this motorcycle.”
In the technical section the initial approach is maintained; This involves equipping the already known 398 cc Series TR engine, which in its latest evolution offers up to 42 HP at 9,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of maximum torquecurrent figures declared by its sister range, the Thruxton 400 2026. The set is complemented by equipment in line with the requirements of the model itself, including an ABS system, LED lighting or a TFT instrument panel depending on the versions.
