After its launch on the occasion of EICMA 2026, the new F 450 GS becomes the de facto trail bet, with a medium displacement within the A2 category, by the German firm.
Now, just a few weeks after its official presentation, and celebrating the 200,000 units sold of the G 310 rangeBMW Motorrad and TVS Motor have announced the start of production of the model at the TVS facility in Hosur.
The new F 450 GS reinforces the relationship between both brands
More than 12 years have passed since BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor joined their paths in the two-wheeled sector. The main idea of this collaboration agreement, as confirmed at the time by the parties involved, was based on “join forces to develop and produce motorcycles in the segment less than 500 cubic centimeters.” As a result of this joint work, both brands are celebrating these days the marketing of 200,000 units of the G310 range.
Taking advantage of this historic milestone, the top representatives of the two companies have taken the opportunity to announce the start of production of the new F 450 GS at the facilities owned by the flourishing Indian business group in Hosur. KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO of TVS Motor Company, commented:
“Our engineering synergy and our shared values of innovation and quality have formed the basis of every achievement… Today, as we celebrate the 200,000 unit milestone, we also mark the beginning of a new era with the launch of the BMW F450 GS”. For his part, Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW Motorrad, also expressed his opinion on this alliance, calling it “bold” that now revolves around the F 450 GS:
“The BMW G310 R, G310 GS and G310 RR enjoy unrivaled popularity around the world and have become a key pillar of BMW Motorrad’s global growth. The launch of the new BMW F 450 GS marks the next exciting chapter in our joint journey.”
In the coming months it is very likely that we will learn about new agreements within this framework of collaboration between the two companies. International media refer to the development of “new platforms and cutting-edge technology” focused on citizen mobility, although the arrival of models based precisely on the technical base that shapes the BMW F 450 GS 2026 is also to be expected.
As happened at the time with the G 310 range, naked and even sporty style models could be launched using the same platform that the new ADV from BMW Motorrad has just released. A possibility that would also end up happening, sooner or later, within the TVS Motor offer.
