Vespa 80th anniversary special series in detail
As Vespa prepares to celebrate its first eightieth anniversary (the patent was registered on April 23, 1946), the brand returns to its origins with the presentation of the special Vespa 80th anniversary series. With this detailed edition, the Vespas Primavera and GTS recover elements of a unique and unrepeatable style, combined with the latest innovations of the current Vespa range.
The color range of the Vespa 80th series features a distinctive pastel green that evokes the spring of 1946, “that motorcycle that was about to conquer Italy and Europe, driven by the turbulent and creative climate of the continent’s renaissance”as defined by the brand itself.
The shade of green chosen is inspired by the color code, recovered from historical archives, of the first monochrome Vespas. A chromatic choice that evokes the 1940s and is reminiscent of one of the first iconic Vespa colors, to which many others would be added over the years, populating its colorful universe.
The aesthetic language of the Vespa 80th Anniversary reflects the values of practicality and functionality that characterized the project at the time: the body color extends to numerous details, such as the profiles of the shield, the passenger handle, the mirrors, the control blocks and the front suspension. The body is distinguished by a glossy finish, while the details have a satin finish.
The result is a minimalist yet eye-catching aesthetic, enhanced by other tone-on-tone elements in a darker green: the seat, adorned with stitching, the rubber inserts on the footrest, the rubber inserts in the center of the footrest, the rear shield cover and the handlebar grips.
The wheels also evoke the first Vespas, starting with the Vespa 98 from 1946, painted in pastel green and with a design that reinterprets the closed pressed sheet metal structure of the wheels of the time. The wheels are adorned with the inscription “Est. 1946” and a diamond-cut rim.
The Vespa Primavera 80th features a distinctive cooling grille on the left side panel, another detail that brings it closer to the technical and stylistic solutions of its origins. The shield bears the iconic Vespa logo, along with the “80th anniversary” commemorative plaque, while on the back there is a badge with the “80 years of Vespa Est. 1946” logo, created to celebrate this important milestone.
The Vespa Primavera 80th and the Vespa GTS 80th are exclusive versions of a model that has become a universal symbol among lovers of the world of two wheels. A style, joy of life and freedom that will be held in Rome from June 25 to 28, 2026in what promises to be the biggest Vespa celebration ever.
