A version that Jorge Lorenzo could soon work on. Both have made no secret that they are in talks to establish a working relationship. Avoiding the direct answer, with complicity and with some play in front of the DAZN cameras, both Viñales and Lorenzo have been protagonists during the test day.
And Lorenzo has been in different Grands Prix lately, and the rumor has been circulating with the paddock for a few weeks until it has spread to the rest. In fact, although there is still no official confirmation, some statements from Viñales himself collected by MotoGP were the ones that were beginning to give notoriety to the situation.
Those statements literally said: “I need to find the best for myself. We know that Jorge Lorenzo is a specialist in riding technique and I am always trying to see if I can develop my skills. I am talking to him to see if we can collaborate to work on details, technique and the structure of the weekend.”
To this we must add that Jorge Lorenzo’s presence at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste was not limited to the paddock, but at certain times of the day he even went out onto the roads to observe the situation on the track. This, which in itself means nothing, in this situation makes rumors of a job between the two grow.
Viñales and Lorenzo already worked together, although in a different way
If an agreement is reached, it will not be the first time that Viñales and Lorenzo work together, because although it was precisely Maverick who took Jorge’s position at Yamaha when he left for Ducati, when Lorenzo returned to the three-tuning fork mark as a tester in 2020 for a few months, both he and Rossi had the advice of the five-time champion.
Now it remains to be seen if everything that remains to be discussed between the two unites the two champions, and we see Lorenzo in the KTM box next to Viñales as his technical advisor, and sharing some of the secrets that led him to be the only rider capable of beating Valentino Rossi and Marc Márquez when both were in their prime.
