WDW 2024 was a resounding success with record attendance, the new Panigale and…controversy included

We were looking forward to WDW 2024 and all the unique activities and moments that were going to take place. And the truth is that it has not disappointed at all. As in a good festival, there have been stages for all tastes, the protagonists have enjoyed their moment and the public has left happy.

And that is no easy task when you bring together 94,000 people at an event, which is how many people attended WDW 2024, and which served as the first contact with the spectacular Ducati Panigale V4 2025, a premiere that Soymotero.net was able to attend as the only specialized Spanish media.

But if there was time for new things, there was also time at WDW for nostalgia and to enjoy a parade celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Ducati 916, in which two stars like Troy Bayliss and Carl Fogarty were at the forefront.

In addition to all that, attendees were able to enjoy a host of activities throughout the weekend, meet-and-greets and autograph sessions with Ducati riders, riding courses and road test rides, Hot Laps and Lamborghini test rides, Ducati Talks, bike exhibitions, stunt performances and many other activities.

In addition to the 916 and the new Panigale V4, the Desmo450 MX prototypes and the presence of its riders, the legendary Tony Cairoli and the multiple Italian champion Alessandro Lupino, who are in charge of piloting them, could not be missing from the WDW 2024 exhibits.

In the paddock, the different themed areas managed to represent all the different souls of the Ducati world with the exhibition of the models that make up the range (Adrenaline & Fun, Travel & Adventure and Lifestyle).

WDW 2024 was a huge success, although the champions race was controversial

The Race of Champions demonstrated how fast the new Panigale is

The icing on the cake was the “Race of Champions”, in which 15 Ducati riders went all out. Pecco Bagnaia, Andrea Iannone, Marc Márquez, Álvaro Bautista, Niccolò Bulega, Enea Bastianini, Jorge Martín, Álex Márquez, Franco Morbidelli… the cream of the crop of racing riders were going to put the new Panigale V4 to the test.

They have done so since Friday with incredible times for a production bike, as Iannone stopped the clock at 1:35.0 when the fastest lap on a MotoGP bike is 1:31.8 set by Bagnaia. That is, 3.2 seconds difference between the new Ducati Panigale V4S and the Desmosedici, which is the fastest bike in the world on the track.

The success of the bike’s debut was clear and the race times were a second faster than in the previous edition. However, and although it was a success overall and an event to enjoy, with Bagnaia winning, with Iannone second and Marc Márquez third, there was no shortage of controversy.

And on the last lap of the race, in the last corner, Márquez desperately went after Niccolò Bulega, who ended up on the ground. Even with the incident, nothing can spoil a spectacular edition of WDW 2024.
