Julio Álamo is the promoter of the Toroenmoto project, and these days he has initiated a unique expedition with final destination in Matsunoyama Onsen, near the city of Tokamachi (Japan), where the only figure in the Osborne bull in Asia is located. The departure has taken place from the historic Osborne winery, in the port of Santa María, an emblematic place where this iconic symbol was born.

Toroenmoto Project: a journey loaded with symbolism
This trip marks the final chapter of the Toroenmoto project, Started in 2017 with the objective of documenting all the figures of the bull of Osborne in the world. To date, Julio has traveled more than 80 in Spain, as well as those located in Mexico and Denmark. With this new route, it will become the first person in the world to visit this emblematic figure located in four countries and three continents.
Julio comments: “The Japanese bull will be the perfect culmination of a trip that is both physical and symbolic. Each bull is a history, a different landscape and emotion. What began as a curiosity has become a way of connecting with culture and with oneself.”
During the next 40 to 45 days, it will cross 13 countries, exceed 15 border steps, 8 schedules and will cross regions such as Chechnya and Daguestán – both republics within Russia -, in addition to countries such as Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia, among many others.
Toroenmoto is not only an individual project, but also a cultural and participatory proposal. Invites travelers and motorists from all over the world to document the figures of the bull of Osborne, created in 1956 by the artist Manolo Prieto. What began as advertising has become one of the most recognizable emblems in Spain.
The trip will end in Japan, where the figure of the bull is part of the largest contemporary art fair Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, thus reinforcing the cultural ties between the two countries. You can follow the day to day of this adventure on the official social networks of July:
