Misano is the second appointment of the WSBK season in Italy and the sixth in the total, which means that at the end of Sunday’s race we will be in Ecuador and, in turn, that the trends we see are already a constant. Therefore, as much as possible, they continue to happen until the end.
And that fight we have seen in all the circuits visited and also in the tests two weeks ago in Misano, is that there are two pilots who have been significantly above the rest: Nicolo Bulega and Toprak Razgatlioglu. With the Italian leading with an advantage of 31 points over the Turk, the two are well above the rest. And now that Toprak knows that in 2026 he will compete on MotoGP, surely squeeze a little more to go with another title under his arm.
Anywhere, the mechanical superiority of the Ducati in front of the BMW is being palpable, as demonstrated by the fact that after toprak four other Ducati pilots are located and that Razagatlioglu’s partner, Van der Mark, is tenth fourth with a quarter of points.
Even so, this weekend in Misano is to be expected that the rest of the pilots can be somewhat closer to Bulega and Razgatlioglu for the tests performed. And also because we are facing a peculiar track, and the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” is a path in which Italian pilots can go one step further.
Misano World Circuit Details “Marco Simoncelli”
The Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” has several peculiarities, the first one is that its finish line only is 510 meters, so the counterrect in which the curve 7 is in between, but which is done thoroughly, is the longest.
It is also interesting to know that of the 16 layouts of layout 10 are right and only 6 to the left, although in reality there are 5, as we commented before, curve 7 is actually a line.
Of course, the curious thing is that when the circuit was originally designed it was just the opposite, because we are facing one of the few cases in which a path has changed its meaning, although it has been a long time.
As for overtaking points there are several, some more risky than others but curve 1, 4, 8, 9-10 and 14 is viable to carry them out. And that always leaves us open races to the last curve where, with a lot of faith and few chances of success, you can try the final overtaking.
