On many occasions we have talked about the fact that the electric vehicle is not made for everyone. The reality is that the technology still has development ahead of it and for certain uses it is not entirely viable. In countries with poorly developed infrastructure and for areas outside urban environments, they are not the best option, not to mention that their high price cannot be assumed by all types of users. However, a recent survey reveals that whoever tries an electric car stays with the technology and is not willing to let it go.
The Global EV Drivers Alliance (GEVA) has carried out this study taking as a sample 23,254 users from 18 different countries (Spain did not participate). The result was a very high level of satisfaction that will take many by surprise. He 92% would not return to combustion and I would buy another electric one if I had to change cars. In addition, it must be added that 4% would opt for a plug-in hybrid and only 1% would have a gasoline or diesel car again. They also pointed out compelling reasons to justify their response.
The majority of users claim that they chose an electric car for its low usage costs. We have already talked about its reduced maintenance and the advantage of charging it at home at low cost. Its users are also environmentally aware and value that technology is good for their local environments, in addition to contributing to noise reduction. Regarding the way to charge them, The 72% of the time it is done at homeleaving fast charging for 13% of the time and distributing 7% in public places and also in the workplace.
It is striking that almost all respondents responded that there are no disadvantages of having an electric vehicle, while around 50% stated that the charging infrastructure was poor and that charging times were long. In each country the results changed, but it is logical that an electric trip should be better planned in places like Brazil or India compared to Germany or Switzerland. This section should continue to evolve and the vast majority believe that it should be possible pay directly by card on all chargers.
