Yamaha already paints without polluting

Yamaha has just announced the Carbon neutral paint first line installed in your Iwata main factory. Electrification of the paint process promotes the low carbonization of production workplaces and, at the same time, helps improve the value and attractiveness of the product.

The brand has already begun to paint motorcycle fuel tanks from February 2025. This first line of neutral carbon paint, which used to use fossil fuels, now uses electricity for all processes, including pretreatment, paint, baking and drying.

The first neutral paint line in the industry carbon

According to the brand itself, “CN1 is also the first line of fully electricity paint in operation in the motorcycle industry.” While conventional paint lines use fossil fuels for each process, such as heat paint and other liquids, heat and humidify the paint or bake and dry, the new CN1 paint line achieves fully electrical operation.

This is possible when combining and satisfying a variety of technical requirements, such as usable paintings at lower temperatures developed together with a paint manufacturer, a compact installation design, and new technologies for isolation and recycling of air supply. In addition, innovations in the painting process will also contribute to the creation of new products with value and attractiveness.

Among them is the possibility of creating colors and details that cannot be achieved with conventional lines. The new carbon neutral paint line also helps simplify the preparation process, which shortens manufacturing deadlines, improves low volume and high mixing capacities, allows the traceability of individual parts, provides a more comfortable work environment that facilitates online work, etc.

The Japanese firm, according to its Yamaha Motor Group environmental plan, is working to be neutral in carbon in all its supply chains, including the company’s commercial activities by 2050.

In addition, with scope emissions 1 and scope 2, Yamaha seeks to achieve carbon neutrality in their factories, including group companies, by 2035 and the introduction of this new line of painting is part of that goal.
