Innovation in Transmission: The New Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT
The most notable new feature of the 2024 MT-09 is the addition of the Y-AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). This technology allows riders to fully concentrate on the performance of the MT-09, offering the option of changing gear manually with their fingers or fully automatically. This system ensures precise and smooth shifting, creating a more active and immersive riding experience.
Redefined Driving Experience
The Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT is built on the high-performance MT-09 platform, combining its agile handling and dynamic performance with Yamaha’s advanced transmission technology. This model allows riders to opt for finger-operated manual gear shifting or enjoy the convenience of a fully automatic system, eliminating the need for a clutch lever and foot shifting. This allows the rider to better concentrate on riding, especially when cornering, optimising stability and connection with the bike.
Functionality and Comfort in the Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT
In standstill and low-speed situations, the Y-AMT system controls the operation of the clutch and gearbox, making it easier to control the machine when starting off, manoeuvring and in heavy traffic. In automatic modes (D+ and D), the system takes over full gear-changing functions, but can be overridden using the rocker-type lever. D+ mode maintains higher revs, while D mode offers a smoother, more relaxed ride, ideal for urban journeys.

Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT Colors, Availability and Price
The new Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT will be available in three colour options: Tech Black, Midnight Cyan and Icon Blue. It will arrive at Yamaha dealerships from September with a price of €11,799 for the Full version and €11,499 for the 35 kW version.
