Yamaha T-Max Tech Max 2025 test: Introduction, Positioning and Rivals of the Yamaha T-Max Tech Max 2025
Little can be said of the Yamaha T-Max (47 hp, € 14,299) that has not been said before. Yamaha was the first to present a Maxiscoter almost five years ago, opening a segment for which many competitors have paraded that have not had continuity in the market.
His figures amazed, with more than 330,000 units sold since his birth in 2001. That does not mean that he does not have competitors in 2025; Some have been planted face in successive versions, each with their recipe and its way.
Without going any further, last October we attend the presentation of the Honda Forza 750 (57.8 hp, € 12,275), more powerful but also limitable to the A2. Also, in its day we face the previous generation of the T-Max with the Sym TL508 (45 hp, € 8,999), now at a great price, but that must be updated.
We must not ignore other options, such as the Kymco AK 550 Premium (50.3 hp, € 11,999) or the BMW C400X/GT (34 hp, € 8,690), of lower displacement and power, but also of premium orientation.
Over the years, the T-Max has become an aspirational product, an aspect that is reflected in the price, but does not subtract sales. But it is also true that its depreciation is much less than in the competition models, so when selling it, it is normal that the cost of having enjoyed it is less than in any of its rivals.

The one who gives first twice, says the saying. However, having been the first to arrive does not guarantee the success of a model, which in the case of T-Max, without being the most powerful, is undoubtedly the most refined.
This ninth generation comes to abound in its strengths, also improving security with the adoption of an IMU that allows to include elements such as ABS and curve traction control. This ninth generation is very tuned. As Beethoven’s ninth symphony.

Yamaha T-Max Tech Max 2025 test: Technical characteristics of the Yamaha T-Max Tech Max 2025
The Yamaha T-Max 2025 is presented with a renewed design, characterized by a more dynamic front and improved pilot assistance systems. The Tech Max version further raises the level, with higher finishes within the sports scooters segment.

The 560 cc bicylindrical engine, with 35 kW of power (and suitable for the A2) and 55 Nm at 5,500 rpm, is combined with an automatic transmission to offer a balanced performance between sportsmanship and ease of use.
The engine and escape comply with Euro 5+ regulations, allowing its circulation in urban areas of low emissions. The transmission, by trapezoidal strap, ensures soft driving, with clutch settings and admission to optimize acceleration and sound. The centrifugal clutch has been reviewed to improve the acceleration from standing, being able to leave very gently or like the twinkling.

The T-Max now incorporates braking control (ABS in curve) that, together with the traditional ABS and the inertial measurement unit (IMU), improves safety in braking and curves, as well as safety in any condition.
The D-Mode system allows the pilot to adjust power delivery, while traction control (also in curve) offers surface stability with little adhesion.

The design of the T-Max 2025 maintains the essence of its predecessors, but with a remarkable aesthetic update. The new front, with double optics and daytime lights, and the redesigned body, provide a modern and compact appearance. The characteristic elements, such as the side panels in the form of a boumer and the ascending side exhaust, are preserved and maintained their characteristic silhouette.

7 -inch TFT instrumentation offers multiple visualization options, which although they are similar, are attractive and functional. Connectivity expands with the Myride application, which allows access to music, messaging and navigation functions.
Garmin navigation, available through a dedicated application, facilitates route planning and allows their visualization on the big screen, all without any cost.

Aluminum chassis, inspired by motorcycles, provides stability and agility. The front suspension, with inverted fork, and the design of the seat, offer comfort in long displacements.
The 282 mm diameter disc front brakes with ABS, bitten by radial 4 piston tweezers, along with the lightened tires (which decrease the non -suspended mass) and Bridgestone Battlax SC2 tires, contribute to optimal scooter control, also in sports driving.

The T-Max continues to have a wide storage space under the seat, in which there is a comprehensive and one open helmet (or two open) and keyless booting by Smart Key. As usual, Yamaha offers a wide range of original accessories, allowing users to customize their scooter to infinity and beyond.

The Tech Max version, which is the one we have tested, includes additional features, such as an electrically adjustable dome in 110 mm, fists and heating seat, cruise control (which could already carry the basic version) and adjustable rear suspension.
The tire pressure control system (TPMs) and exclusive finishes, such as backlit switches, mechanized tires or golden fork finish, reinforce its high -end sports scooter character.
This version is available in exclusive colors, such as Ceramic Gray and Dark Magma. The “basic” version is available in Icon Black and Tech Kamo.

Yamaha T-Max Tech Max Test: How’s the Yamaha T-Max Tech Max
It is always a pleasure to get to the controls of a T-Max. Quality sensation is constant in all its aspects: construction, elements, adjustment of plastics, interface, etc.
The driving position is perfect for my 178 cm of height but, being so wide, I also have plenty of leg flexion to reach the ground with the two soles of the feet at the same time. This is a limitation for the most contained statures, also underway, because they will not be able to support the soles of the feet behind the shield without forcing the posture, having the legs completely stretched.

As soon as it starts, the ability to start at gas tip with total precision and softness surprises. The wheelbase, really remarkable (1,575 mm), contributes to the stability on a straight line being excellent and to roll at a very low speed without having to put the feet on the ground is a children’s game.
But let’s be clear, the rolling at a very low speed is for when they force the circumstances, because you cannot avoid curling the gas. Between the T mode and the S mode, you end up choosing the second. In the long run they give the same power, but the S mode feels fuller.
The sound is the usual characteristic, as a turbine, because it has not changed engine and escape, nor is it necessary. The 48 hp spread a lot, and not stretching the horses allows the torque curve to be flat and the engine feels very full in any regime. The T-Max walks a lot.
In fact, one of his problems is that it is very easy to roll above the limit of the road through which you circulate without realizing it, such is the fineness of operation of the T-Max. It is the typical good and silent car problem, that you do not realize the speed at which you circulate.

The electric screen of the T-Max Tech Max is a blessing in fresh mornings, it will also be in the hot summer. The temperature did not give to try the fists and the heating seat, but they are never more than, such as cruise control, easy to drive.

Reaching the curves, the wheelbase marks the behavior of the T-Max. In rapid turns stability is imperturbable. In twisted terrain it is able to roll fast, but always considering that it weighs 221 kilos in a gear order, that if they are quite a lot for a motorcycle with a half displacement, the same can be said of a scooter.
The advantage is that the center of gravity is very low (in addition to the wheelbase), hence its very good stability. In winding land you can choose between several paths, but he does not like to correct them halfway, but be consistent with the one you choose. Immediately the point of the t-max already these conditions, that more than limit, they show you the character of the motorcycle, which seems to tell you: “Wherever you want, but don’t get me up”. Another of its limitations is the rubbing of the easel in the most pronounced inclinations.
In the end, the most fun is rolling fluently, looking for the best traced and feeling the Finalsse of T-Max. You will be surprised by the sound of some scope of the easel, but it will not move you from the traced.
You can also go to fire and hurry on the purest Stop & Go style, but you will soon realize that you enjoyed more chaining traced and you will return to order. The Bridgestone SC2 that Catza are ideal for the postulates of the Scooter.

The braking is very good, especially if we act on both handles at the same time. In this way it is much easier to feel the braking and motorcycle behavior. The consumption is 5.4 l/100 rolling at a good pace, it is not outstanding, but as a scooter that is, it rolls to a high regime, so it is not bad. In city it is surely worse, everything depends on what you contain with the accelerator. Autonomies around 250 km are not crazy.

On the highway, it is able to support very high rhythms, but it is not possible to take the engine to the cut of 8,200 rpm. At 7,500 rpm it is able to reach almost 175 km/h, which is not negligible, without forcing the engine.
