What if the sound of a motorcycle could become music?… under this idea the Italian initiative was born “Rock Your Dreams – WR125R”. A project where engine, music and image are combined in a balanced way to finally become the soundtrack of this immersive experience. Its creation is the work of Giulio Maceroni in collaboration with the students of the “Paolo Giovio” Lyceum in Como (Italy) and the support of Yamaha Motor Europe.
Rock Your Dreams – WR125R: When the sound takes shape
A motorcycle can convey much more to us than we imagine. Rock Your Dreams – WR125R demonstrates it with sounds and images and a good dose of creativity and passion. Through an innovative approach, the technical sounds of the motorcycle are transformed into rhythmic elements, finally becoming an original synchronized soundtrack. A project that has been led by the well-known guitarist Giulio Maceroni.
This is not the first time that he has collaborated with Yamaha on an initiative of this type. Last year around this time he tested his skills with the instrument, while combining melody and speed in a unique way. With his body completely suspended, Giulio Maceroni reinterpreted one of Vivaldi’s most famous pieces to the rhythm set by the notes he managed to play in such circumstances.
Now he returns with Rock Your Dreams – WR125R “a creative experience built around the language of sound, images and communication, with the WR125R as a source of inspiration”as explained by the Japanese brand itself. Along with him, a group of Italian students in charge of some of the facets of the process, including the conception and development of the narrative.
Also sound design and recording, music production, communication and marketing, and the creation of videos and content for social networks. According to Yamaha “the project valued teamwork, experimentation and the ability to transform an idea into a coherent and contemporary story”seeking to demonstrate how music, sound and image can become tools for learning, expression and growth.
Regarding the project Maceroni declared: “I have always dreamed of creating such special and unique projects for children. For me, it is a source of great satisfaction to have found support, as always, together with Yamaha, a brand with which I have been actively collaborating for years. This work represents something special: putting young people at the center, accompanying them with my team on a complete creative journey, has been extraordinary.”
He concluded: “Can I start by saying that, after so many work experiences around the world specializing in motorcycles, music, soundtracks, it is a great motivation for me to ‘donate’ and allow this immersive experience to be lived by such fabulous children who have really given their all in each lesson, demonstrating from the beginning how important a project like this was to them.”
Regarding the motorcycle chosen for this audiovisual adventure, it is the reborn Yamaha WR125R 2026. A model that is presented as a gateway to the two-wheeled adventure of the Japanese firm thanks to its dual-sport design. It is equipped with a 125 cc single-cylinder engine capable of generating 14.5 HP of power at 10,000 rpm and 11 Nm of maximum torque at 6500 rpm.
It also has a top-level chassis with a semi-double cradle chassis, 41 mm KYB fork, monocross shock absorber with linkage system and two disc brakes, one per axle, 267 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear. With just 138 kilograms in running order and a seat positioned 875 mm from the ground, it becomes the ideal companion on and off the road.
