New winds blow in Rieju with the recently presented project of his new factory in Gerona. Currently, the works are in an initial phase, with earthworks underway, which will give way to the development of a key facility for the company’s future.
This advance represents a strategic investment aimed at strengthening production capacity, adapting to new technological needs and accompanying the evolution of the brand in international markets. The start of the works has had the participation of Jordi RieraCEO of Rieju, and David GarridoCEO of Egein, responsible for the development of the project.
Rieju: continue growing while maintaining the brand’s tradition
Both have highlighted the importance of this new infrastructure as a lever for growth and as a reflection of Rieju’s commitment to innovation and industrial excellence. The architectural design has been developed by the architect Montse Rierawho leads the conception of a modern, functional space aligned with the company’s values.
In Riera’s words: “This new factory is a key step in the evolution of RIEJU. It will allow us to increase our production capacity, flexibility, digitalization, improve our processes and continue growing in our development of new products and in international markets without losing our essence or our link with the territory.”
The new factory will be developed on a plot of 71,973 m²with a constructed area of 27,100 m². The project includes two warehouses, a production plant with 5 assembly lines and offices, configuring an environment designed to optimize production and logistics processes. The start-up of the new factory is scheduled for the first quarter of 2028.
This project represents a firm commitment to the future, innovation and territorial roots, reinforcing Rieju’s commitment to the industrial development of its environment and its international projection. It also has the support of aid linked to the PERTE (Strategic Projects for the Recovery and Economic Transformation) of the Electric and Connected Vehicle (VEC), aimed at promoting the transformation and competitiveness of the mobility industry in Spain.
