Recently the prince williamheir to the throne of the United Kingdom, has been seen in a formal ceremony held at the well-known charity organization The Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes (NABB). An initiative resulting from the personal donation that he and his wife have made to the entity, and with which a new vehicle equipped with the necessary devices for transporting blood by road has been acquired.
Prince William, an inveterate biker
Beyond the mere visit of the country’s next king, it has attracted attention how Prince William openly commented to the association’s volunteers about his devotion to two wheels, also acknowledging that they continue to ride motorcycles “discreetly” and even “in disguise”, as the Visor Down colleagues record in their chronicle. Nothing that surprises those who have known their hobby for years.
In fact Sandy Gourlaypresident of the organization, argued in a relaxed manner with the prince: «I know you are also a motorcycle enthusiast»to which he responded: «I love riding a motorcycle, I still ride from time to time, incognito». Although we currently do not know which frames are part of his personal garage, the passion that Prince William professes for the “red bullets” of Borgo Panigale is well known.
In the past he owned a Ducati 1198S, “and it was even rumored that he included a first-generation Ducati Diavel on his wedding gift list”as stated by the British media. Years before he could be seen riding an enduro motorcycle in the company of his brother. Also a Triumph Tiger 1200, shortly before becoming a father. By his own admission, the latter is the main reason for having reduced his motorcycle outings.
Shortly after the event at the association, from the official Instagram page of Prince William and his wife, they stated: «Introducing ‘Prince William’, the latest rapid response vehicle to join the Norfolk Blood Bikes fleet. In service with Norfolk Blood Bikes, a volunteer-run emergency courier service that operates 365 days a year, delivering blood, plasma, vaccines and other urgent medical supplies to hospitals and emergency services across the region.”
They concluded by exposing the important work carried out by all the volunteers who are part of the Norfolk Blood Bikers team: «Seeing first-hand the dedication, precision and care behind each journey, this team plays a vital role in supporting NHS services, ensuring life-saving supplies reach patients quickly, safely and often out of hours, when it matters most.”
