The Royal Spanish Motorcycle Federation (RFME) has confirmed the team that will represent Spain in the MX of Nations 2026 (MXoN), which will be held on days 2October 3 and 4 at the Raymond Demy Circuit in Ernée, Francein its 79th edition. Jorge Prado, Guillem Farrés and Rubén Fernández They will form the starting lineup, with Francisco García and Oriol Oliver as reserve driversunder the direction of the national coach Paco Rico.
Spain with possibilities for the MX of the Nations 2026
Spain arrives at this edition of the MX of Nations with real options to fight for positions of honor. The three riders are going through a great sporting moment and arrive at Ernée eager to achieve a historic result for Spanish motocross. In addition, the three will have the support of their respective Factory teams, forming a top-level block that will represent Spain with the aim of fighting for the podium.
The team also hopes to have the support of a large presence of Spanish fans in Ernée, who will accompany the drivers in the search for that podium so desired by all the fans. As for our representatives, Prado faces its eighth Nations defending the colors of Spain. The MXGP rider arrives in great shape after a season in the United States with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, after missing the last edition of the test.
The one from Lugo highlights the level of the Spanish team this season and remembers his great performance in 2023, when he fought for victory in the MX of Nations. “This year we have a super strong team, with many possibilities not only to fight for the podium, but also for victory. I hope to repeat what we did in 2023 and take Spain to the top of the podium”commented the MXGP rider.
Guillem Farrés in excellent shape
Farrés faces his third participation in the MX of Nations as leader of the MX2 World Championship with his Triumph. The Catalan rider values the experience accumulated in this test and the good harmony of a team that has already competed together in previous editions, and arrives at Ernée (a circuit in which he has not raced this season, but did last year) with the bike showing a high level of competitiveness.
“We have a very competitive team, we know each other very well. I really want to race with this great team and I know that the result will come”Farrés explained. Finally we have Rubén Fernández who returns to defend Spain in the Motocross of Nations after a season installed in the Top 5 of the MXGP World Championship.
The MX Open rider values the level of the team in this edition of the MX of the Nations, with Farrés leading the MX2 World Championship and Prado demonstrating his usual level, and is confident that the sum of results will allow him to fight for the podium in Ernée, a circuit that usually has a great crowd atmosphere. “I think it may be the year we have the best team. If we manage to put all the results together, we have a very good chance of fighting, at least, for a podium.”commented the MX Open rider.
Paco Rico at the head of the national team in the MX of Nations 2026
The national coach, Paco Rico, values the level of the three drivers and what they are demonstrating this season. After the RFME statement he declared: “We have Jorge, who doesn’t need a letter of introduction. For me he is the best Spanish driver of all time and he is currently in a very good moment, as he is demonstrating in the United States.”
“Guillem Farrés, current leader of MX2, who has become the man to beat in this category and who will be a key piece for our team; and Rubén Fernández, who is among the Top 5 of MXGP, and who always fights like a warrior until the checkered flag in a race as special as the MX of Nations. I like to be cautious and respectful, as always, but I am sure that we are one of the five or six teams with the best lineup at the moment.”
“That’s why we have to look up and not put a ceiling on the result. What I would like, as is evident, is to win. And I am clear that we have to compete in this race with the focus on the podium and on giving that joy to the Spanish fans. It would be the perfect way to complete the great moment that Spanish motocross is experiencing at an international level in recent years.”
He concluded: “I know perfectly well that it is a race in which all the details count and in which everything needs to go well, but I have the feeling that this is the year, yes or yes”. With this lineup, Spain will face the MX of the Ernée Nations with the maximum ambition and with the hope of once again placing Spanish motocross at the top of the international scene.
