Neither one, nor two, nor three. Not even 23 … 47 are the fines that have fallen to a British biker to advance inside the well -known Swiss tunnel of San Gardardo. And you will wonder, and why? … Basically, because it is strict forbidden to advance inside this huge underground infrastructure of almost 17 kilometers in length. Once again, we assume, that you will be trying to elucidate what was the reason then to sanction it up to 47 times.
This British will not drive back through the San Gardardo tunnel … not even in another place in Switzerland
At your last issue, why they sanctioned up to 47 times to this moto in San Gardardo, has a very simple explanation: he advanced 47 vehicles along the tunnel route, which at the exit of the same, prior patrol of the canton of Uri making the wait, was translated into the fines that we have already mentioned above.
But this was not the worst that was going to happen to our intrepid moto, not at all. The final amount of this road nightmare resulted in a final figure that amounts to almost 13,000 euros. As reported from Motorrad Online, the minimum amount in advance is 270 euros, so you can pull calculator and get the account yourself.
There is even more, since the Prosecutor’s Office presented charges against this biker “For serious infractions of the Federal Traffic Law and for driving without the necessary physical condition”. This is because the defendant piloted under the influence of alcohol, drugs or some medication. It could be any of the three possibilities cited, or even a “complete pack” of prohibited substances when the controls of a motorcycle are treated.
As a consequence of everything described, this biker can no longer cross the San Gardardo tunnel driving any vehicle. Nor circulate along any Swiss road through the remains.
We do not know if the sanction is disproportionate or not, but what is clear is that in the alpine country they do not walk with triggers when within the same equation we put traffic infractions, reckless driving and possible consumption of substances not allowed, when someone is at the controls of any vehicle.
