This, within the route he was touring for a few months at the controls of his KTM 390 Adventure, in full attempt to complete the return to the world, he was a victim of the theft of his motorcycle within a few hours of arriving at Wollaton Hall, in Nottingham.
Yogesh Alekari and the power of social networks
From that tragic moment in which he discovered that he had lost absolutely everything in a matter of minutes, Yogesh Alekari appeals to the solidarity of social networks to try to find his motorcycle and all the belongings he kept in his luggage. It is at this point in the story where the official concessionaire of KTM Mansfield, The Offroad Center, enters the scene. This issued an official statement in his social networks in which he said:
“We need your help! Share, please!: If you have seen the recent news, you will have seen the history of Yogesh Alekari traveling around the world in his KTM 390, but when he arrives at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham, they stole his motorcycle and all his belongings! This is where we need your help. We want to donate a KTM 790 Adventure.
Concluded: “We need to share this with everyone and hope you see and accept our offer so that you can finish the rest of your adventure. Motoshack has even put stickers so that it looks more to its old. If we all share this, you will surely see it! ” Something that finally happened.
While Alekari has not recovered his filming team and all those memories that he was keeping during his passage through the 17 countries he had traveled until that moment, there is no doubt that everything suffered in previous days was compensated with such a special gift.
Daniel Watts, owner of The Off Road Center, said Ras deliver the motorcycle to Alekari Yogesh: “We saw the story of Yogesh; he only came to have coffee when his motorcycle was stolen. We thought: ‘Well, we have this motorcycle here, we have to help him. We are not only helping Nottingham’s reputation, but also to that of the country. This man has traveled to 17 countries and has no problem.”
Concludes: “If we didn’t help him, his country’s stigma would be ruined. Maybe he thought it was the worst place he had been, so we had to intervene. We don’t want anything from him, we just want to follow him and see what he does.”
Now Alekari himself has started his route direction to Kenia with the intention of completing his trip. For this, he has created a Gofundme campaign with which to raise funds that help him continue with his adventure.
