One of the most anticipated mounts within CFMoto, its new 500SR Voom, It is now available for purchase at the brand’s Chinese dealerships. Moreover, at a price that seems to be from another era, considering what it offers in all aspects. It is undoubtedly destined to become a benchmark in the mid-displacement sports car category.
In any case, the new 500SR Voom is presented as part of a range of models that look to the future in a special way. CFMoto has been working on it for several years and now, on the occasion of its “CFMOTO Day”held on July 13 at the Zhejiang International Circuit, the Asian firm has unveiled, along with its innovative neo-retro sports car, 3 other newly-made models.
CFMoto 500SR Voom in detail
34,980 yen, about 4,500 euros at the exchange rateis the price that Chinese CFMoto customers will have to pay to be able to obtain the services of the new 500SR Voom. A price that seems like a joke considering what the brand offers us with this peculiar sports shoe.
To start with its mechanics, a 499 cc, 4-stroke, water-cooled DOHC four-cylinder engine associated with a 6-speed gearbox, equipped with a CF-SC anti-rebound clutch, which announces a maximum power of 78 HP at 12,500 rpm. The maximum torque, 49 Nm is found with the engine running at 10,000 rpm. With this mechanical compendium, The new 500SR Voom is capable of catapulting its 194 kilograms up to 220 km/h.
In terms of chassis, the 500SR Voom uses a chrome-molybdenum steel frame as the main component of the assembly. This rests on a 41 mm inverted front fork and a rear monoshock, both elements adjustable for preload and hardness. Braking is provided by a double 300 mm front disc actuated by four-piston calipers and a 220 mm rear disc gripped by a single-piston caliper.
The braking system is integrated into two 17” wheels fitted with CST CM-S3 tyres in sizes 120/70 R17 and 160/60 R17, front and rear respectively. All this is joined by other equipment elements such as a steering damper and electronic systems such as ABS, TCS and ESS.
The brand also offers three seat height levels: 785, 795 or 815 millimetres. The wheelbase is 1,395 mm and there is also a fuel tank that can hold up to 15.5 litres.
In terms of equipment, the 500SR Voom It has a 5-inch full-colour TFT screen as an instrument panel. From it we can select the two modes of use that allow us to control traction or check the tyre pressure, as well as all the usual functions of a dashboard equipped with this technology: speedometer, tachometer, gear engaged, total and partial kilometres, etc.
At this point, we must ask ourselves the same question that we always ask ourselves when a bike of this type is launched in China: will it finally be sold in Europe? Well, for now, it is something that we cannot confirm, although given the rise of the brand in our continent, it is possible that we will finally see it rolling on our roads.
