Porsche 911 Forty Edition, the eighties special edition

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Porsche Ibérica, the Porsche 911 Forty Editiona special series of the 911, which combines unique colours and finishes, as well as exclusive logos inspired by Iberian history and culture. The first units will be delivered to their owners in October 2024, for a price of 284,439 euros.

It was in 1984 when Porsche stopped being represented in Spain by an importer and established itself as a subsidiary. Now in 2024 it commemorates those four decades with an exclusive and highly personalized edition of the 911, limited to only 40 units.

“The idea we had for the Forty Edition was to create a 911 that a Spanish or Portuguese customer would have ordered 40 years ago, one that would still be fashionable and desirable today,” explains Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualisation and Classic Cars at Porsche. “In this Sonderwunsch project, the collaboration with our Spanish and Portuguese colleagues was very creative. We learned a lot about the culture and tradition of these countries, as well as anecdotes from the early period of Porsche Ibérica in the 1980s.”

This new chapter in the history of Porsche Ibérica integrates individual design elements that go far beyond the existing catalogue for the 911. It is based on a Carrera GTS Coupé (992 II), with the T-Hybrid drive system, which combines an electric motor integrated into the turbocharger, a lightweight high-voltage battery and an electric motor coupled to the eight-speed PDK transmission. The six-cylinder boxer now has a displacement of 3.6 liters and an output of 541 hp (398 kW). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 312 km/h. Standard equipment includes rear-wheel steering and the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system, with a ground clearance that is 10 millimeters lower.

The Porsche 911 Forty Edition has a bespoke exterior colour, the Quercusverdereminiscent of the very particular tone of oak leaves, developed through the offer Paint to Sample Plus which allows for individual colours to be created according to customer specifications. Oak is also used in the anniversary logo, which is hand-painted and placed on the grille of the car’s tailgate.

Additionally, identifying elements include the 911/Forty (911 40) logo on the B-pillar in cream white, the Porsche and 911 logos on the rear in silver, the side window trim in aluminium, the flared wings with stone protection film in satin black and the taillights and rear strip in red. The protective film on the wings is a functional and stylistic nod to the popular 911 option of the 1980s.

The RS Spyder Design wheels are painted in satin black, with a rim in high-gloss silver and a hubcap with a monochrome Porsche crest. This is a tribute to the colour combination found on the 911 wheels from the 1980s.

The interior combines Truffle Brown and Cohiba Brown leather. The darker shade is applied to the dashboard and lower surfaces, while the lighter shade is found on the trim. It is meant to remind us of the artisans who work the leather. The seats have a tartan fabric in their central section, with browns and greens. There is Crayon piping at the front and rear, with “Forty” embossed on the headrests.

The high-quality “Forty” embossing in Truffle brown leather is displayed on the dashboard in front of the passenger, accentuating the individualised interior. Even more individual is the centre console lid with the embossed “Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur” lettering.

Upon entering the vehicle, customers will see door sills in dark silver-coloured brushed aluminium with the personalised “Forty” lettering illuminated in cream white. In addition, individual projector lights under the doors display the special “Quercus tree” logo on the floor. Attention to detail is also found in the driver’s key, which is painted in Quercus green and has the “Forty” lettering engraved in silver – and is housed in a case matching the interior.

The price includes a custom-made tarpaulin. Made from Quercusverde, it bears the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur logo on the front, Forty Edition lettering on the sides in cream white and a shield on the back.

Porsche Ibérica launches a special edition created through the Sonderwunsch program.
The Quercusverde color from Paint to Sample Plus pays tribute to the extensive oak forests representative of the Iberian Peninsula.
The tartan fabric in the centre of the seats is also custom-made for this vehicle, in a special colour.
