Take a look at the creations that come out of the AC-Sanctuary RCM (Real Complete Machine) facilities, such as this one Kawasaki KZ1000 MKII, can become an exercise in masochism and love for art in equal parts. First of all, because if one cannot access preparation of this type (always the damn money), we will end up with contradictory feelings about a project of this level.
If we stick to the second premise, it is almost a given that any project created by Hiroyuki Nakamura and his team would end up exhibited in a museum that had a theme related to the world of motors, right?
Philosophical reflections aside and focusing on what is really important, this hypnotizing KZ1000 MKIIit is probably one of the most radical works that have been forged at AC-Sanctuary, as confirmed by the words of the man himself. Nakamura To the Pipe Burn colleagues:
“This large vehicle was built to a specification with a strong personality at the request of the owner. In particular, they asked us to be uncompromising in the visual aspects.”
It is clear that the Japanese trainer has his own and very personal style, but when a client suggests that you build him what is already his fifth custom frame by your company, it is acceptable that you break some of your rules and create something truly special . This is how Nakamura decides to vary the internal numbering system and provide this KZ1000 MKII of its own series, giving rise to this RCM-600.
From here the transformation process began immediately, since the owner had had this specimen stored for some time with the idea of using it in a project of this caliber. AC-Sanctuary was clear about what to do, but above all what the final result should be after a preparation of this type and importance.
Kawasaki KZ1000 MKII by AC-Sanctuary in detail
A first look at this KZ1000 MKII, It helps us to get an idea of the work and dedication that must be carried out to obtain a customization of this magnitude. Starting with the front, where the cupolino adopts the original shapes of the model, although with some essential aesthetic touches to give it a unique imprint.
The smoked dome stands out and behind it the instrument panel with the project identification plate. The front fender, from the Nitro Racing brand, is made of carbon fiber, while the lower keel gives a more compact image to this preparation.
Then we have the fuel tank, completely handmade, made of aluminum and widened at the front. For its part, the single-seat rear tailpiece made by Tomo FRP, together with the chosen color scheme, puts the icing on the cake in the bodywork section.
As for the cycle part, Nakamura and his team knew that they had to choose exclusive elements, the kind that are reserved for preparations as special as the one carried out on this KZ1000 MKII. Among them we have to highlight:
- Sculpture Swingarm with “Eccentric Adjuster Type Rear Suspension Stabilizer and Bracket”
- Fully adjustable side Ohlins shock absorbers
- Traditional look front fork and Ohlins component package
- Machined triple clamp
- 17-inch Oz Racing wheels
- Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 Tires
- Sunstar brake discs
- Brembo GP4-RX radial brake calipers
Now it was time for this KZ1000 MKII was fast and for this the displacement of the original engine was raised to the 1,135cc, thanks to incorporating new forged pistons and CNC connecting rods. The valve train was also updated, with Yoshi cams, and a reinforced clutch from a Kawasaki Z1000.
To complete the mechanical section, the guys at AC-Sanctuary opted for a battery of Yoshi carburetors and an exhaust system made of titanium signed by Nitro Racing. Undoubtedly, the electronics were worked on, with a specific and fully programmable ignition package, along with an oil cooling kit responsible for maintaining the temperature at the desired level despite the new demands.
CNC machined footpegs, Stack lighting equipment, two adjustable levers and a pair of personalized mirrors are also part of this incredible preparation. To celebrate, the lucky owner has just placed a new order based on a Honda mount that he treasured along with this KZ1000 MKII.
They say money doesn't buy happiness, but we haven't yet come across anyone at the controls of an AC-Sanctuary preparation with a bad face, right? Congratulations to Nakamura and his team for “reworking the restomod miracle” with such a special preparation.
