A little over two months ago than Energy Motor, the Italian firm specialized in the design and development of electric motorcycles, announced its imminent financial bankruptcy, with the subsequent public auction output of all the company’s assets for a total value of 4,533,867 euros.
Looking a little back, specifically to the last bars of last year 2024, we already anticipated as energetic could end up declaring bankruptcy from one moment to another. A situation that unfortunately seems to have been established in the electrical segment, with the definitive closure of reference brands such as Cake or Arc at the time, among others, basically because the accounts do not come out.
Energy could escape burning
It has been the specialized news portal on electric motorcycles The Pack who has revealed that “He has learned of something exciting that is happening between racks and that could be good news for the electric motorcycle industry. Although we still cannot share all the details, some rumors point to which energy has probably attracted the attention of a foreign investor (probably based in Asia).”
For now there is no more information in this regard, but, knowing the operation of Asian investors, mainly Chinese, it is likely that the operation to refloat energy is finally completed. From The Pack they conclude by clarifying on the subject: “After two failed auctions and the serious risk of total loss of the company, along with its assets and technology, it seems that energy could be saved. This information still expects official confirmation, but there could be news soon.”
There is no doubt that, if the Financial Rescue of Energy occurs, it would be a breath of fresh air in a sector, that of the Premium electric motorcycle, which does not go through its best moment. With the exception of few exceptions, we have seen this tendency to “throw the blind” in recent months, by leading brands such as those already mentioned above.
The problem, essentially, is that plug -in motorcycles of high performance cannot compete from you to you with the current mounts to combustion of similar specifications. A high price, together with some figures of autonomy still to improve or the uncertainty of what can be the future of the brand in the short and medium term, pulls back to potential customers who value this type of technologies.
At the moment it is only necessary to wait for Energica to move token and pronounce on the subject. Among other things because we assume that there will be many clients who at some point were done with some brand model, and that they currently live in a deep uncertainty about how and where they can resort if, at any time, they need to maintain their motorcycles or replace any of its components.
