Available until now only for circuit, the KB998 Rimini 2027 announces its long-awaited approval in accordance with the current Euro 5+ anti-pollution regulations. Achieving road motorcycle status has been a logical step for Pierluigi Marconi and his team of engineers and designers.
As we know, until now it has exclusively served as the basis for the WorldSBK racing bikes with which the BbKRT riders Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani They went up to the podium. This has caused the Bimota KB998 Rimini to cause a sensation worldwide, putting the Italian manufacturer in the spotlight.
Bimota takes a step forward with its KB998 Rimini
With many of the same specifications as the current KB998 Rimini, the 2027 model also incorporates high-quality materials such as Anticorodal, Ergal and CNC components to create elements such as the exquisite swingarm and seatposts. This is combined with a tubular chrome-molybdenum chassis and other striking components, crafted and assembled by hand by the brand’s artisans.
The 2027 model is visually distinguished by green highlights on the carbon fiber body, which are combined with red and white, evoking the Italian flag, a style inherited from Lowes and Bassani’s BbKRT competition motorcycles. Under the body, a series of component changes, including new ECU settings, wiring pieces and an additional oxygen sensor, are combined with the famous Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR engine.
Shigemi-TanakaChairman of the Board of Directors of Bimota SpA, stated: “The launch of this Euro 5+ model comes at the perfect time. With the BbKRT team in its second season, the WorldSBK motorcycle’s podium potential is evident. Expanding the availability of the KB998 Rimini to a fully road-legal Euro 5+ motorcycle not only reflects the essential spirit of WorldSBK racing.”
He concluded: “It also further broadens the considerable appeal of the Bimota brand”. For its part, Pierluigi Marconi explained: “These past few years have certainly been very intense, but we’re not complaining; in fact, we’re motivated by the pressure. Getting the KB998 Rimini to Euro 5+ compliance was one of our main ambitions.”
He ended by expressing: “If we add to this the potential that we knew the bike would have in WorldSBK, we have the ideal scenario for 2027. Customers can now enjoy a new Euro 5+ version of this exceptional motorcycle on public roads.” For more information and details about the new Bimota KB998 Rimini street bike, we can go directly to the brand’s official website.
