Damon Electric, another dream of electric megadeport that seems to go for the sink

Designing a motorcycle from scratch is complicated. Designing a megadeportiva is available to very few. In fact, we can count the megadeportes on the planet with the fingers of the two hands and are always linked to large companies and are mainly combustion. It is true that we had the energy or now the Ducati Motoe, but it is neither easy nor the results are just those of the megadeportivas combustion motorcycles.

The issue is simple: so that an electric motorcycle can have megadeporta benefits, a lot of energy is needed, which reaches engines through batteries that end up being very heavy so that the motorcycle has the expected power and speed. That is why even companies such as Energy, despite being able to provide a championship as a motorcycle, have ended up having problems.

And those same problems seem to have, as it tells us from the other side of the Jonathan Klein Atlantic, Damon Electric. You may not remember it, but this Canadian company halfway between the United States and Canada promised a megadeportiva capable of reaching 200 hp. A beautiful project, with high hopes and, for what we are seeing now, little foundation.

Although a motorcycle has been seen rolling on the company’s networks, it seems that scratching a little began to see the fissures of the project. Klein tells that, without going any further, all the electrical part that we could see in the time as a prototype corresponded to a Motorcycle Zero, while the chassis arrived directly from a Yamaha R1.

In addition, 3D impression was used for the body and other parts with which the original parts camouflaged. We could say that, in a way, there may be some coherence when using this system, to be able to develop other technologies that can allow the company to test solutions that will then implement in their own systems. It is a more economical way, but the issue is complicated when those bikes try to go through yours …

Damon’s megadeporta promised great advances

Even so, this is not definitive of the end of the dream that seems to be lived in what surrounds Damon Electric. There has been movements in its directive for a long time that complicate the evolution process, in addition to varied layoffs for a long time and, especially, the abandonment of the project of two of the great pillars of the same: Dominique Kwong and Derek Dorresthan.

According to the information, the two are behind more than 40 of the patents that Damon had about this megadeportiva, which beyond the gross benefits promised help and protection aids for the user that to date there was not.

Therefore, Damon’s case seems to be far from those projects selling to use, but there was really an intention to change the motorcycle sector.

Now there is nothing left to expect that the so -called chaotic and selfish direction is able to react. Otherwise, we will attend in a time to the disappearance of a project that, at the time, made us believe that the electrical megadeported was falling.
