Dreamy motorcycles for sale: Bimota HB2 of 1982

More than four decades ago that the Bimota HB2. Specifically in the fall of 1981, after a meticulous design and development work with the admired Massimo Tamburini at the head of it. In fact, this would be the last motorcycle of the brand signed by the “Michelangelo de Las Two Wheels”, after accepting to get involved in a sports project with Roberto Gallina.

According to the official sources consulted only 193 copies were built of the model, of which only 53 of them were enrolled for civil use. The rest was marketed in the form of kits to be enjoyed on the track, so today it is almost impossible to know how many HB2 are still rolling throughout the planet. What we have recently discovered is that there is a copy equipped with a CB1100R engine, instead of the standard mechanics that carried the model.

Bimota HB2 for sale: Square exclusivity

In origin, the HB2 Bimota was formed with the same mechanics in charge of boosting the Honda CB900F of the moment. We talked about a 901 cc tetracyclinder, air -cooled and equipped with a 16 valves.

95 hp at 9,000 rpm were obtained from that mechanical compendium, with a maximum torque of 77 Nm to 8,000 laps. The engine was in turn associated with a change of five relationships, managing to catapult the 208 kilograms in a vacuum that the Italian declared to the 245 km/h. In fact, after its launch, it became the fastest registration motorcycle of the moment.

Regarding the finishes of the model, Bimota made use of many of the components that at that time were mounted in the CB1100R, such as the clock of instruments or the light drive pineapples, intermittent, etc. Also of the motorization of this, something that we did not know until we find in this specimen that we show you today and that is currently on sale. Probably, the only unit of how many were manufactured that you enjoy this mechanical configuration.

That is at least what is detailed in the description of the announcing itself: “This amazing and ultra rare Bimota HB2 was delivered new and enrolled to a Bimota Collector of the United Kingdom. In 1983, Bimota could supply chassis and body with wheels … but the Bimota collector’s creditor wanted a CB1100R engine, so he bought a new CB1100R Honda only by the engine and the relevant parts.”

Subsequently, everything was sent to the well -known chassis specialist Harris Brothers Performance, who was in charge of pairing all the ingredients and setting up this exclusive Bimota HB2. Currently, the motorcycle is in perfect condition and has only had two owners throughout this time: “First owner: 17 years. Then sold to a concessionaire. Last owner: 20 years! Care with love from Nueva”, They conclude in the description.
