The latest information leaked from the well-known California Air Resources Board (CARB) confirms what we already suspected for a few weeks: Ducati recovers the acronym V4 SP in at least two of the models that will make up its new 2027 range. Both the Panigale, as well as the Streetfighter, will have a desired variant among their ranks. “Sport Production”.
The V4 SP acronym returns updated
After proving the development of a new Panigale V4 SP, just a few days later the documentation presented by the Italian firm to the US administration confirms the same with the Streetfighter 2027 range. This will also enjoy a select version marketed under these acronyms. A special edition that originates in 2022, at which time the company launched a Streetfighter V4 SP on the market for the first time alongside the standard variant of the model.
Then Ducati described it as a top-of-the-range numbered series capable of further improving the power-to-weight ratio of the Streetfighter V4 S. It also sported an exclusive decoration, high-end equipment derived from the Superleggera V4 and announced a Weight of only 196 kg in running order (3 kg less than the Streetfighter V4 S). All this accompanied by the symphony emitted by the engine Desmosedici Stradale of 1,103 cc.
As in the rest of the variants equipped with this propellant, those from Borgo Panigale declared a final power of 208 hptogether with a maximum torque of 123 Nm at 9,500 rpm. As a novelty in this 2022 Streetfighter V4 SP, a STM-EVO SBK dry clutch systemguaranteeing “a better anti-rebound function, even in the most aggressive reductions, and greater fluidity in all deceleration phases, a crucial aspect to be truly effective on the track when pushing the bike to the limit”they stated from the brand.
In terms of aesthetic finishes, this first Streetfighter V4 SP exhibited a livery featuring the matte black of its fairings, combined with the matte carbon finish of the wheels and spoilers. All of this was visually contrasted with bright red details and a tank made of brushed aluminum. Undoubtedly, the Italian brand did the rest in terms of its equipment, incorporating as standard, among others:

Streetfighter V4 SP 2027: what we know
After the registration of the Panigale V4 SP, last August 13 Ducati requested the CARB to include a new “Sport Production” variant in its list of 2027 models. Although details about the differences of this version with respect to the V4 and V4 S variants have not been revealed, everything suggests that, as has happened in the past, it will include complete equipment with which to improve the visual and dynamic part of the model.
As published by Motorcycle colleagues “Ducati is expected to officially announce the 2027 Streetfighter V4 SP with one of its Ducati World Première presentation videos in the coming months, before the EICMA in November”. So, for now, we just have to wait for the brand itself to officially reveal the changes and improvements that will give life to this Streetfighter V4 SP.
