Ross Miller his team of Lurkshop In Brooklyn, New York, are the architects of this wonder we have met thanks to Bike Bound’s companions. A DR650S converted in supermoto based on hundreds of working hours and the inclusion of first level components. About the project comments Miller:
“I didn’t ride my own motorcycle for seven years just to build this thing and lived in the workshop for three. It is worth every second. Now we are in a space of 5,000 square feet here in Brooklyn working with my wonderful team Al, Ryan, Collin and Zach. ”
Suzuki DR650S by Lurkshop Nyc in Detail
According to this detailed interview, the idea of converting a 1991 DR650 into a high performance supermot came after the consultation of one of its clients, Peter Cooney. He sought to renew his old offroad mount giving him a special and unique touch: “What would you do, Ross?”he asked, to later answer the proposal to prepare the latter.
Now this DR650s is equipped, among others, with a cubal increase kit, until a final displacement of 670 cc. Also assembled a high compression piston, new invoice camshaft, cylinder head, 5 angles valves, flat gate carburetor Yoshimura TMR and Escape GPR. With everything manages to offer a final power of 54 hp to the wheel13 more offered as standard. On how it works, Miller says:
“He doesn’t stop throwing. The front wheel of the ground starts, deviates and turns again in third and is handled like a demon. Strike with a finger. It looks like a DR650, it is handled as a supermoto 125. Everything is firm and fast. ” The rest of the modifications that make up this DR650s are simply epic. We leave you the list in detail of most of them:
- Powder coating for the frame
- Hagon rear shock absorber with hydraulic preload configured for the client
- Dr-Z front with custom direction rod

Finally, Miller makes special mention to the mechanics of this DR650s: “The engine is a jewel. Normally, we get the most out of the XR, but the second generation DR650 is not as good as it is first generation and I have manufactured some of them.“
We cannot agree with him more … Our most sincere congratulations for this high flight restomod.
