The new F3 Competition is born, in the words of the brand itself, “from MV Agusta’s desire to redefine the standard of the supersport motorcycle segment”. Based on the technical and stylistic basis of the well-known F3 RR, the transalpine firm combines attention to detail, with components and materials oriented towards pure performance, offering an unparalleled synthesis of form and function.
Like all MV Agustas, the F3 Competizione will be built entirely by hand in the Varese factory, piece by piece, and Only 300 numbered units will be produced throughout 2025. This new model pays tribute to the concept of competition, finding its charm in the combination of lightness, power and elegance. The F3 Competizione can be described as a tribute to sportiness, aesthetic refinement and technical excellence.
MV Agusta F3 Competizione in detail
What differentiates the F3 Competizione from the RR version is mainly its cycle part, even more efficient and refined thanks to the collaboration with Öhlins. The fork is the well-known inverted type NIX30 with 43 mm bars with TiN treatment, which contributes significantly to dynamic behavior thanks to its efficiency and wide range of adjustments. The fork is fully adjustable in all hydraulic and mechanical settings, with both adjusters located at the top of the fork, allowing the user to fine-tune the settings for both road riding and track use.
On the other hand, we have a Öhlins TTX 36 shock absorberwith double tube technology and an external reserve tank. It is also fully adjustable (compression and extension) using easy-to-use external adjustment knobs. This component is crucial to improving the performance of the rear suspension, and is combined with an aluminum single-sided swingarm. Completing this suspension pack is the 19-position adjustable steering damper, which guarantees absolute stability both on the road and on the track.
This set of Öhlins suspensions reduce weight by 1 kg compared to the standard F3 RR suspension. The core of the design is the multi-tubular steel tube chassis, combined with aluminum side plates. A further dynamic and aesthetic improvement is provided by the carbon wheels, developed specifically for the F3 Competizione, which reduce unsprung masses and weight by 3 kg compared to the aluminum wheels of the F3 RR.
These changes profoundly affect the behavior and agility of the bike in quick changes of direction, while adding a touch of aesthetic prestige with its matte-finish exposed carbon. The Brembo braking system includes two 320 mm diameter front discs with floating calipers paired with Brembo Stylema radial-mount monobloc calipersalong with a 220 mm diameter rear disc. To further improve the already excellent power/weight ratio, MV Agusta’s R&D department has included, for example, a new lithium-ion battery, saving an additional 3 kg of weight.
In the mechanical section, the F3 Competizione declares a maximum power of 160 hp at 13,500 rpmthanks to a system of Akrapovič titanium exhaust developed specifically for this model. The use of titanium and carbon for the protector allows an additional 3 kg weight reduction. At the heart of the F3 Competizione is the well-known three-cylinder engine from 798cc from MV Agusta, equipped with titanium valves – 31.8 mm intake, 26.7 mm exhaust – that allow high performance at high revolutions, with the limit set at 13,500 rpm.
The Total weight reduction is 14 kg compared to the RR versionwhich results in a weight/power ratio of 0.9 HP/kg. The engine meets the approval standards Euro5+and the motorcycle comes standard with a road-approved exhaust. The new MV Agusta 9-disc assisted and slipper clutch offers better performance both on the track and on the road, and reduces the effort required on the lever by 50%. This, combined with the MV Agusta electronically assisted shifting, both up and down gears, translates into an even smoother and more precise driving experience.
If we talk about aerodynamics, the F3 Competizione enjoys the advanced configuration inherited from the F3 RR, with specific elements intended to offer performance beyond any doubt. The aerodynamics, perfectly integrated into the fairing, are made of forged carbon and It can generate 8 kg of downforce at the front at 240 km/h.
The aerodynamic package includes a smoked racing fairing, carbon fiber fairing sides and a front fender designed to optimize airflow for both brake cooling and engine temperature control. The aim is to maintain the excellent drag coefficient (Cx) of the F3 while counteracting the drag added by the new aerodynamic elements. All aerodynamic components are made of carbon fiber with the artisanal quality that has always distinguished MV Agusta.
Another key aspect of the new F3 Competizione is its latest-generation electronics equipped with a new ECU paired with a 6-axis IMUfour riding modes (Rain, Sport, Race and customizable), which manage numerous controls based on multiple parameters related to the spatial position of the bike and engine operation, while traction control has 8 levels: 2 for rain, 3 for road and 3 for circuit.
The accelerator ride-by-wire It features a negative travel for easier and more precise control, eliminating the on-off effect and allowing the smooth disconnection of the standard cruise control. The instrumentation is composed of a 5.5″ full color TFT screenideal for interacting with the MV Ride App, which allows the rider to record and share their rides, customize the motorcycle’s settings from their smartphone and activate turn-by-turn navigation.
The electronic pack is completed with an ABS with two operating modes (Sport and Race), which incorporates a cornering function to improve safety even when inclining. In Sport mode, ABS is active on both wheels, with cornering assist and rear wheel lift mitigation (RLM) functions activated. In Race mode, ABS is only active on the front wheel, cornering assist is disabled and the RLM function is adjusted to be less intrusive.
ABS can only be completely deactivated when the bike is equipped with the specific Akrapovič exhaust mapping and is used only on the track. The F3 Competizione is also equipped with launch control, which, combined with the front lift control (FLC) system, It allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. The FLC system manages the height of the front wheel during wheelies to provide maximum acceleration with maximum safety and precision.
Finally, as in all MV Agustas, attention to design and detail has been paramount. The MV Agusta Styling Department was clearly inspired by the F4 Claudio for the F3 Competizione, choosing colors such as Satin Carbon Black Metallic, Satin Intense Silver and Gold, and making extensive use of exposed carbon fibre. The seat is upholstered in alcantara, a material that offers both refinement and ideal grip and ergonomics for riding.
A notable aesthetic feature is the gold finish of some components, in particular the core of the front brake discs and the rear crown. Another touch of exclusivity is the numbered plate (XXX/300) placed on the new CNC-machined steering plate. The 300 units of the F3 Competizione are intended for a demanding clientele of sophisticated motorcyclists, aesthetes and connoisseurs of technology and technique, capable of appreciating the stylistic refinement that characterizes each MV Agusta.
